:bdaycake: Happy Birthday to BunBun2 :bdaycake:
Hope you have a lovely day.
Thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes. I'm another year older but none the wiser!
Newthrift Your cakes are lovely! It seems a shame to eat them.
ChrissyG The advent 'lucky dip' sounds like a great idea. If you can source some inexpensive multipacks you could split them up and wrap separately.
MrsM Hope that you enjoyed the pantomime.A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Happy Birthday BunBun
Deannatrois, sorry to hear things are still not looking good. Hope you manage to clear your unwanted visitors this time. Do the council provide a service for things like that?
Chrissy, I'm loving the idea of the Advent lucky dip - providing I don't forget I might have to steal it for next year
MojoWorking/Freespirit, hope your Christmas spirit returns very soon. Freespirit, I think yours might revive a bit when DD is feeling better, it's very hard to be jolly when someone you love is in pain. Sending positive vibes to you both. I've still got my Christmas spirit (although I'm never as excited about it in December as I am when I start my shopping in July lol) but I still can't believe it's only a week away - it's going to be all over before. I really want next week to go very slowly. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Evening everyone, i have no christmas spirit but i have just ordered DD1 some BS smellies for next christmas ????? How does that work????? I want to do some kind of hamper for each of them so i can add bits and pieces throughout the year, and she said she would love a BS one, i am going to do DD2 a yankee candle one (she takes after me) and DS being a film graduate always always always wants just dvds so i thought i would add snacks etc to his as well, DD2s partner i just dont know i find him really hard, and then just little man and he will be dead easy. PEPPAPIG yes you may be right there, i feel as if i have been stressed pretty much since october, and feel like i am living on my nerves, atm its DD2, something in the loft (i cant even type the name as you all know i am terrifed of them) that keeps getting down into the bathroom and kitchen :eek: we have put numerous things down and nothing, it has kept me awake the last two nights by doing whatever it is doing right above my bed, so i lay there panic stricken, and end up with a tension headache, now the drains blocked one side and the toilet is blocked the other aaarrgghh! I am seriously going to open my christmas bottle of Baileys at this rate :rotfl::rotfl:But i do know what you mean i feel more excited when i start shopping than i do at this time being totally finished.#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -
Hi all, i'm afraid I haven't had much time to post lately or catch up.
freespirit I would tell your daughter to keep nagging the doctors as it doesn't sound right, I had a C-section and was certainly not in a lot of pain like that after all that time. The pain had pretty much gone it was just slightly uncomfortable at 6 weeks. There must be more they can do to check it out.
3forholidays thank you so much for offering to do next years thread - I totally forgot about that!
Happy belated birthday to some of you and lots of hugs for all who need them.
Well Christmas prep is nearly done in our house. Just a few more presents to wrap and some food to buy next week. We bought a real tree this year - the first one I've ever had! The only problem was I let DH go and buy it on his own, when he brought it back I thought it looked fat in the netting - when he cut it open it was flippin' huge!! It blocked the kitchen doorway! :rotfl: It's now a funny shape where I had to trim it down! The fairy lights and decorations saved it though and it actually looks quite nice now.
I'm currently reading The Magic of Christmas by Trisha Ashley, i'm nearly halfway through and nothing remotely Christmassy is happening yet.I can only read a page or two a day and i'm thinking all the Christmas stuff is going to come after Christmas! I really should have chosen a book where it was Christmas from the start.
Well i'm asking Father Christmas for one thing this year - sleep! Wiggle is not very settled at night, waking up 6-7 times and we have a lot of early wake-ups between 4:30-5:30. It was 5:10 today. I guess he's just one of those babies but it is a hard slog sometimes.0 -

Freespirit, for the things in the loft / kitchen / bathroom, I found that the only thing that works is an electronic device that electrocutes them. I too tried various poisons and even those sound things that are apparently supposed to scare them away, to no avail. I eventually bought an electronic trap off of eBay and haven't looked back. I didn't want a trap that would squish them as I have no desire to remove the mangled remains. However, the electronic trap is nice and clean, as all you need to do is tip the contents in the bin without having to touch anythingSmiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Thank you re cakesThe last one WILL be iced tonight so I can deliver it tomorrow morning.
I still haven't fully shaken my cough/coldit comes and goes in waves through the day, very annoying. Wondering if to actually have some medicine try and give it a kick before next week!
Work is very quiet so I might make a start on Christmas hamper ideas this afternoon
Hugs to all and our missing elves too :xmassmileChristmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0 -
Afternoon everyone, i am starting my christmas baking today to see if that will kickstart me
PRINCESSKITTY aww he is so cute, what a beautiful piccie, DD2 has been given quite a lot of christmas clothes so started putting little man into them on 1st Dec so they get a good wear out of them too. I agree with you but im worried she is so fed up of being fobbed off that she will just put up with the pain just like her back problems, they are coming over tomorrow so i will have a chat with her, haha love the christmas tree story, you dont realise how wide they are at the bottom, what a shame that book is disappointing, it is one on my lists as well, i am reading Calling Mrs Christmas by Carole Matthews it is fab. Oh i feel your pain my lovely over the sleepless nights they are just the worst thing! DD2 longs for a good nights sleep tooi keep saying we will have him even just one night but she said she will just not sleep wondering if he is ok and feeling guilty about me not getting sleep :rotfl::rotfl:
SPRINGDREAMS ooh we havent tried that, thankyou for the recommendation, yes we have spent a flipping fortune on sonar devices everywhere, things with poison in, sticky pads, nothing!! Thankyou x
NEWTHRIFT i just think it will be easier to buy things when on offer bit by bit, plus i love doing hampers haha, hope you feel better soon#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0
