Welcome all newbies
Boredjellybean - Mandco is right, Home Bargains definitely do the coins in coloured foil although they're more pastel than bright. Not sure if Aldi do them as well - will try to remember to have a look when I go shopping.
I made Christmas sacks for my two little grandsons at the weekend (did DGDs last year as they're a bit older). They're Christmas fabric with their names on in big red letters on a cream panel and lined with a brushed cotton red fabric and then have dark green dressing gown cord for ties. I'm hoping they'll get used every year and cherished and not be a one year wonder lol.
Have cellophane two hampers tonight (pamper hamper and man's pamper hamper) - just need to get netting bows now to finish them off.
Going shopping again on Thursday for festive things so going to start looking for things for the two retro buckets I bought at B&M last week. Am ridiculously excited about itIt's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
springdreams, I have to ask, what are Taste of Christmas mugs please? I'm also going to have a look at that bingo link when I've got a spare minute, it sounds fun!
Hi Arthien,
The Taste of Christmas mugs are Ruth Honey's idea:
.... have made up a 'Taste of Christmas' mug for my Auntie.
Put in some sachets of
- winter spice hot chocolate,
- mulled spice tea,
- gingerbread latte and
- camomile & spiced apple tea
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=63794974&postcount=8912
The gingerbread latte sachets and the camomile and spiced apple tea sachets can already be bought from Tesco. I have also bought the Irish Coffee latte sachets. I'm keeping my eyes peeled for the other two items. And I was thinking of adding 3 / 4 chocolate coins and a candy cane.
These travel mugs are reduced to £1.25 in my local Tesco, so I will be using those for the Taste of Christmas mugs

Although they are showing as £15 online, these throws are £7.50 in my local Tesco

They are lovely, soft and thick. I have bought 2 for myself and 3 as gifts.Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

Unfortunately I got diagnosed with post-natal depression the other day which came as a shock as i'm normally such a happy-go-lucky person. I've never had depression before, this is all new to me but explains why I end up crying every day and feel quite down.I really hope people don't think i'm being insensitive by posting this, I am so aware of how lucky and blessed I am to have a healthy baby and I love him dearly, but since getting home from hospital I've had a horrible black cloud hanging over me that won't budge and don't have any inclination to do anything. I've been referred for counselling so hope that in time it will disappear. Sorry to bring the thread down from all the Christmas cheer but just wanted to share.
hi princesskitty, i suffer with mild depression some days its hard to get out of bed and it is a constant battle to keep depression at bay, if you ever want to talk just let me know0 -
thanks for your help - I found where they were last year, it was Morrisons so I'm hoping nearer the festive season they will have them again, we don't have a home bargains near us so I'll have to see if I can send a runner to look lol0

homebargains had sit and store box seats for £4.99 http://www.homebargains.co.uk/products/7341-kids-large-storage-seat.aspx not a bad size and may make a good hamper box?
Thats similar to what I'll be getting DD, but at 13 she wants a plain leather oneLast year she got a wire bin filled with goodies to replace the pretty pink floral one she had. Looking forward to not having to try and stack Pr1ngles and then wrap them this year as there'll be enough space to just put them in the box. Not sure what I'm going to be using next year :rotfl:

I got these last year and they filled DD's stocking quite a bit, so thanks for reminding me*adds to list*

Try b& m that's where I got my big black leather box from, they are 14.99 but they are the bigger boxes.
Feeling better today but I ate one of the foods that sets of my reflux really badly so not one of my brightest moves but nevermind.
We are doing a boot sale on Thursday health permitting
Love and hugs xxx0 -
Ameyturtle - glad your feeling a bit better today
welcome newbies
nana and omo - wishing you both well, its not the same without you two here x
Another NSD for me today, so I shall be mainly feeding my passion via pinterest and youtube! Got a couple of clients later today, but hoping to be back home, wrapped up in my pjs, by 7pm! Might even have to start my evening with a hot chocolate - despite yesterdays mini heatwave, its feeling very autumnal here this morning! It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
Hi everyone,
Sorry not been on in a while. Went to my local smyths and got this for my daughter
http://www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/toys/fashion-dolls/c-513/other-fashion-dolls/p-4990/animagic-rescue-hospital-quad-and-trailer/
reduced from £29.99 to £14.99!
Also got her the helicopter which is priced at £19.99. The box was bashed and there were 2 figures missing so I chanced my luck and asked the manager for a reduction and he knocked £5 off! the figures were only tiny and she has already got loads of them so I snatched his hand off lol!!
Got my sister and step sister one of these each
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Search/searchTerm/cosmopolitan.htm
They were reduced to 4.99 each and im going to buy them the christmas edition of the cosmopolitan magazine and I always get them a voucher each too x the lady at argos said they will be reduced again at anytime so keep your eye out if you have somebody in mind for it. The reviews arent good as I think the original price is alot to pay but for 4.99 it is a lovely set xx
Got my husband a micheal mcintyre dvd in poundland at weekend for his christmas stocking. They are also selling alot of hello kitty make up and minnie mouse lip glosses and nail varnishes which are ideal for my little experimental beauty queen 4yr old lol x Hoping to get her a vanity case (may get a cosmopolitan one and then I can have goodies inside) and fill with kiddy make up as she loves it x
Bought a few bits online at halfcost which arrived and they all fab. got a few manchester united bits for my 12yr old son but no idea what to get him!
Off to do a bit more clearing out, am onto the kitchen cupboards and drawers now x
Keep thinking christmas thoughts x0
