  • Thank you all for your support, you are all really kind. Last week was awful but the last few days have been quite good, I think it's a combination of DH being at home and we got out and about quite a bit. Wiggle has also been quite well behaved and his colic hasn't played him up too much. I haven't cried for 3 days which is good as I was crying every day. It's a shock as I just assumed i'd feel a certain way after giving birth and then this happened and I feel nothing like I thought I would. I remain quite hopeful though and look to a time when it will have passed. Having you guys and Christmas to focus on is a huge help! My mum is staying this week which i'm relieved about, I was really, really struggling last week being on my own at home. freespirit i'm sorry to hear you're having similar thoughts about your new grandchild, I think it's because these things are huge life events and test us mentally and emotionally. But try not to worry, from what I see on here you are going to be an absolutely fantastic grandmum!

Thank you CHRISSYG for posting the cosmetic storage box, going to get one for a friend and fill it with toiletries/make-up as she loves all that - although it will have to be for her birthday as I've already finished her Christmas pressie!
  • I'm quite excited as I made a start on the stocking fillers & placed an order with Baker Ross the other day, I will do a trip to the £1 shop soon for the rest

I've also made a start on some crocheted cushions as gifts - I just ned to source the cushion pads (probably some cheap cushions from the charity shop)

Does anyone happen to know where I can get chocolate coins with colourful wrappers, either lovely bright shiny ones or ones that are rainbow coloured ??

I watched the Christmas in September on Food Network yesterday - bring on the October one. I've always loved Delia Smith but never really watched Fanny Cradock, even though my mum loves her shows.

I was astonished at how quick she rolled a swiss roll! Magic!

  • Just come back from the local shops and noticed the Mr S had small colour changing led lights that might be good for nightlights for small children - they're out of stock online but the pictures are here to show you what they look like (last 5 items on page), they had loads in my local on the shelves £2 RTC from £4.

Also noticed that the charity shops are starting to put out their christmas cards and in the back of one of them I noticed that they were sorting out donated christmas decorations to put out soon.

99p shop had a couple of the chocolate calendars just on the end of an aisle and a good half aisle of halloween stuff.
  • My range still hasn't put out the Xmas stock :(

I'm going to write a list of films to watch every Sunday between now and Christmas. Not necessarily Christmas films but still films I'd normally watch that time of year.

    So far on my list:
    Elf
    Scrooged
A Muppets Christmas Carol (the best version)
    The Grinch
    Bad Santa
Monty Python and the Life of Brian
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (that's the Gene Wilder one, right?)
    The Wedding Singer
    Pitch Perfect

    Any other suggestions?

this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk
