  • Hi princess kitty, I suffered from post natal depression after my daughter was born. It was very hard to deal with and I was put on anti depressants which made me feel like a failure. My dr was fantastic and looked me straight in the eye and said that if I had a chest infection or ear infection he would put me on antibiotics and I would take them and not bat an eyelid! Because the word depression is mentioned we feel like its something we have not done or failed at, he said the antidepressants were my "antibiotics" to sort the condition out and that I would only been on them for a short time until the depression had gone. I had my daughter in may. I got diagnosed in july and was off them in september. If you ever want to chat please feel free to pm me xx

    Welcome to newbies :)

It felt quite like autumn this morning but it has started to warm up again like yesterday now.

freespirit thanks :) I think I am going to sit and have a look through and see if when its physically infront of me I feel it looks too much or enough!

Running this evening with a couple of women from where my parents live (its only 10mins from where I live now), we are going weekly and then on Thursday's we have a personal training group session (this week is the first one), I also forgot I had agreed to do a 10 week bootcamp with my friend starting next week - she sent me the link so I could see what we had signed up for...it's a military based bootcamp that looks hard but very good
I'll be a slimmer me by christmas :rotfl:

Have a good day everyone :)
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

The weather is gorgeous here today. Been a nice few days.

I need to get on Pinterest and get some ideas for gifts. I'd quite like to try book folding. It's my mil that would be the hardest to make for. But after spending £930 to get my car fixed recently, I am cutting way back. I plan to do a lot of have made pressies with some shop bought stuff to make it up if needed. It's so hard :-( feel as though the belt gets tighter and tighter every year.

  • Hi everyone, been a while since I posted as I just haven't had a chance! Sounds like everyone is doing so well on their Christmas prep, the rate i'm going people will have to wait till March for their pressies!

Unfortunately I got diagnosed with post-natal depression the other day which came as a shock as i'm normally such a happy-go-lucky person. I've never had depression before, this is all new to me but explains why I end up crying every day and feel quite down. :( I really hope people don't think i'm being insensitive by posting this, I am so aware of how lucky and blessed I am to have a healthy baby and I love him dearly, but since getting home from hospital I've had a horrible black cloud hanging over me that won't budge and don't have any inclination to do anything. I've been referred for counselling so hope that in time it will disappear. Sorry to bring the thread down from all the Christmas cheer but just wanted to share.

Sending you hugs honey, same thing happened to me and couldnt understand it at all as id never suffered with it, kept thinking i had no right to feel like that but found beating myself up made me feel worse :-( it isnt your fault hun its the huge hormone crash that does it after the birth, hope counselling helps you, pm me if you need a chat, and congrats on ypur new baby xxx

  • Afternoon everyone! Christmas prep is under way and I'm hoping to feel less stressed this year. Went through my cards, paper and tags over the weekend and I have plenty for this year and probably next although I'll probably buy more in the sales! lol.

Here's my stash at the moment. It's not huge but it'll do for now. I have Christmas tree chocolates stored away that I got in Morrisons last Xmas which had a best before date of 2015! and I had bought some new decorations in the sales which were around 10p each which I was extremely happy with.

Bought some small presents already-mostly stocking fillers. I got some books from the works online and some toiletry items for a hamper I'm doing! Bought a few Christmas chocolates too....wondering if that was a bad idea as I think temptation might get the better of me! xxx

  • Oooh Also, Im after a bit of advice for christmas crackers. I got some Make your own packets in Wilko last year and I'm wondering what to put in them. There will be 7 of us in total for dinner, 6 of us are adults then my DD who is 5. I will get her something easily to put in her cracker but I'm struggling for the adults. I'm wondering whether to do a £1 scratch card and maybe a small chocolate in each?

Does anyone have any better ideas? xx
