About a week after my son was born I had a terrible break down, was just the baby blues, lots of hormones, delayed trauma from a difficult birth & just geenral sleep deprivation, it passed within a fe days & a decent sleep but if it doesn't please don't feel bad for asking for help, the midwives unit will talk to you & offer suggestions & call on anyone you trust to look after baby for a few hours whilst you get a rest.
I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

This is very random! Is it a present for hubby then? I hate to say it, but when I googled custard apples there was an article which was talking about how Asda started stocking them in 2012. If you've got a decent-sized one near you, maybe that might an option for future? It's very thoughtful of you to go to all that effort though, I'm sure he will appreciate them. Out of interest, how do you serve them?

Yes for my hubby for our fourth wedding anniversary. He's been going on about custard apples for nearly 10 years and we've searched everywhere! His friend got them from Sainsburys originally. When we got home I spent hours on the net searching & ringing places to no avail - Harrods was my last resort! I have no idea how to serve them, I think you take out the seeds & the eat but I shall check before tomorrow :rotfl:

    PrincessKitty - Congratulations, he's beautiful :)
Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:
  • princesskitty29 he's gorgeous. try and get some you time (its important) even just a nice long bath.. time for you to take stock.. Do you have someone to go over the birth? talking about it helps.. The mind and body goes into shock after giving birth and when it goes not to plan it can be related to post traumatic shock too. Try not to be too hard on yourself. Make use of someone making a cuppa for you and try not todo everything yourself. Your body has been through ALOT in the last 9 months. hormones have a lot to answer for huh.

Enjoy those lil noises, the soft hands and skin, the crying that sounds like a bleeting lamb (though in the middle of the night isn't always cute lol) and remember..... you're never alone! I'm sure the others would agree. if you're sat up doing the night feed and need to sound off you can do so here as well. xx

  • Hello all! I joined in the thread last year, but had to re-register as my old login wouldn't let me post! Kept re-setting my password and forgetting it! Anway.... I'm back!

Congratulations PrincessKitty, your little boy is gorgeous. I hope you are feeling better soon, and have lots of people round you to help until you do.

So, and update on where I am. I got married last week so Christmas prep. was on hold. I'm going to be unpacking my boxes at the weekend and checking exactly what gifts I bought in the sales in January/last Dec. then work out what else I need to buy/make.

I have no craft fairs booked this year either yet, I think I may only do the one big one (famous last words) I usually start prep in July, but because of the wedding I've done nothing! It seems the organisers are behind also, the reason it's not booked yet!

I know this is kind of different... but... I have major issues buying birthday cards, my selection is narrowed furhter by the fact they insist on putting "congratulations" on them it really p's me off...I've been looking for a 18th one for my sister why am I congratulating somebody for not dying before they reached 18! Theres no skill in it it's not some great achievement she's just not died. I think in my eyes 90 is about the appropriate age that I'll start with congratulations... but yes ggrr!

princesskitty29 - Congratulations on the arrival of your mini person! :)
(and regardless of my above rant I do mean congratulations, that is skill and commitment!)

I'm back for a couple weeks from my holidays :D only 2 weeks then I'm off again :P
