Good grief.
Woah....No need for the insults!
Its hardly difficult to do one of the following:
1) At the very basic just put the turkey in an oven and turn it on, or
2) Follow the instructions that come with the turkey, or
3) Google "How to cook a turkey"
Appears the OP would have been able to have cooked a boneless turkey, and is now able to cook a chicken breast - so not exactly useless in the kitchen.0 -
I was working last night and had a customer stressing their broadband wasn't working (It was they'd connected a different router and not used the new wireless password). What resonated with me was her saying "Everything must be perfect for Christmas or everything will be ruined" and it wasn't said in a drama lama way but as a serious comment. I do feel sorry for people like her and the OP who have so swallowed the commercialism of Christmas that they can't roll with the punches and just enjoy the family day. Some of my best Christmas memories are when things went dramatically wrong ....but we all survived and lived another Christmas .....and retelling those dramas and laughing about them together became a part of our family Christmas. Either the OP is very young or has her priorities all wrong (or both).
There are 50,000 households without electricity today .....and thousands more flooded out-and the OP is emotional about having to put her hand up a turkey's backside and stuff it ????? Give me strength !!I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
My OH made a bread and butter pudding for afters (we like to be different) today and I asked if we had any cream /custard to go with it.
When he replied we had neither, I cried that christmas was ruined.......luckily he knows me !
I do worry about the population these days as the most trivial thing (by that I mean no show deliveries or the wrong sort of turkey) seems to set people off - it makes you wonder how these people would manage if there was a really crisis to be dealt with2014 Target;

You have no turkey
Hundreds of people have been forced to spend Christmas away from their flooded homes.
But your missing turkey takes priority :rotfl:0 -
My beef was not up to usual standards but we are all over it now so many people make a fuss over nothing, mistakes happen they gave you a good alternative get over it...0

I think perhaps, the OP has been on the cooking sherry since early morning.0

OP - why bother stressing over a turkey, eating turkey at Christmas is not compulsory so next year why not have a joint of beef, pork or lamb instead that way you need not shove your hand up a bird's bottom or through the neck end to stuff it.
BTW I had a lovely roast beef with all the trimmings for dinner today because none of us are overly keen on turkey so why bother?0 -
We've had fillet steak and roast pork too. Never cooked a turkey for Xmas dinner. Cook what you like, turkey isn't compulsory.0

Read that, and get a bloody grip of yourself.
Your dead bird wasn't at the shop, so they offered you another dead bird, for free, that's a good deal to me, but no, poor bloody diddums was emotional.
I suggest you see a doctor, you have issues if that is stressful.0
