I didn't know you could check out on the TV either. Im always learning on this forum :D

Checking out on the telly is a wonderful thing...we also forgot to check out of our room at Orleans once - it was a double-booking and we just completely spaced that we never checked out...no issues, they just checked us out. I wouldn't do it on purpose but I think that a lot of people in Vegas probably just forget.

I think the last time we went to the desk regarding check out was a few years ago at Encore when we went to check-out on the telly and saw a mini-bar charge of a fair amount for scotch (which neither of us drink)...then we had to go to the desk and it was annoying. :)

Brilliant -what route you going to take ?

I was thinking of doing an open jaw then using that cheap $116 fare PHL to LAS that keeps popping up as I quite fancy a stop in Philadelpia

Not sure yet, probably through the south as I've done a route across the north already. Luckily I've got 8 months to plan it!

    probably through the south
Have you considered Colorado and Utah? There are loads of great places to visit there if you like scenery.

Sorry to drift OT - this probably needs a new thread???

Hope you are right......about the 'no'. I'm glad to be out of Scotland during th final build up. We were asked about it at Montezuma Castle yesterday. I was surprised how informed the guy was. Must be news even over here. Recent polls are a bit worrying despite me not quite believing.

We are now in flagstaff. Having a great trip but very tired due to jetlag. Made it past 4am this morning which is better. Horrible driving when so tired. Grand canyon was great. Oatman, lake havasu and laughlin today.

Weather a bit poor. Thunderstorms but scattered andtiming of rain has worked well so feeling quite fortunate. Also stopped at sedona yestrrday. What a place. Loved the scenery.

    laughlin today.

I like Laughlin, we stayed at The Aquarius a couple of times, we were there for the 4th July fireworks a couple of years ago where they launch fireworks over the Colorado River . I like the bar in The Colorado Belle that brews its own beer.

this is what we are hoping...we have some $ left from our previous trip but would like to get some more before we go...so fingers crossed.

And yes, we have 'good' cards and yes we could just withdraw when we get there but we prefer to arrive with 1/2 our budget...one or two scary moments with cards being blocked, etc. make us twitchy about the possibility of being in Vegas an unable to gamble ;) We would have a worst-case bad card back-up plan but we just prefer to arrive with 1/2 our money and go from there.

Yeah I did both on my last road trip. Utterly, utterly stunning.
