took the plunge and booked for £349 next march to be there for the Nascar race
  • Becksta - Did you do the meet and greet with Penn and Teller (free)? after the show - we did got some photos with them and autographs.
Then sat at a slot machine till we got a free drink and by this time we had no trouble getting a cab back to the strip!

Not really - we did see them having their pics taken with people but there was quite a crowd so we didn't hang around in the hope we could grab a quick taxi back. With hindsight we would have been better off waiting to meet them.

I've booked the Venetian now for our stay - thanks everyone for the help :)

I have a question also - we're looking at going to see 'Love' when we're there and can book tickets online. On myVegas, they have companion tickets. When you get that reward, can you use them to book tickets online or do you have to get them at the Mirage when you're in Vegas? If so, will they sell out?

You won't be disappointed in the Venetian:D

Not sure about how the companion tickets work but we booked a package deal through Cirque Club for Love & Michael Jackson One. Tickets worked out at $159 per person and gave us both shows.

Thanks. I've just registered for that Cirque Club. We'd like Love tickets for section B and it says that there's an offer for this:

$60 tickets available for Category D, Regular Price $104.
$80 tickets available for Category C, Regular Price $130.
$105 tickets available for Category B, Regular Price $155.
Tickets will be available for pickup at the LOVE Box Office.

But the tickets for section B are coming up at $170 each with no discount applied at the checkout. Confused. I'll keep looking.

What date are you looking for? I think you'll need to select Will Call and select book tickets for the confirmation page to come up with the discounted price.

We're looking at Friday September 19th. I've selected will call and book tickets but they're still showing $170. They start at that price, not $155 as in the offer. Maybe it's just not available on the dates we are there. I've looked at other dates and it's still the same.

I have the flights in my bag but am wavering as it seems that many people do this and some have been banned by the airline as it is away around avoiding tax by transiting through the UK rather than stopping.

if you add on the return from oslo it goes from £349 to £1500 pp

Where are you seeing that they were banned?

The only people I have heard of having penalties were people who hit it on a very regular basis and were identified by their FF number. These tended to be weekly US domestic business travellers not once or twice a year flyers.

    Do you have any links?

I've lost the last leg several times and had no comeback (although I would for preference use DUB rather than OSL as there is a far higher incidence of no show so less likely to get noticed).

I quite fancied this fare starting in Oslo with a LCC fare the day before and seeing a bit of Oslo though

I've just checked on that date (9.30pm show) and can see the total price is $252.90 ($115 per ticket plus fees). Are you definately logged into the Cirque club? Once logged in have you selected the number of tickets from the dropdown (shown next to Cirque seasonal). Select Willcall and then Get Tickets.
