    Becksta thanks for the report.

you did many of the same things we did at similar times.

We thought the SLS was very nice, did you sign up to the slot club, there was a free $5 play for joining and another $5 if you went by monorail (we did courtesy of myvegas), we won about $30 on the free play :)

I noticed you mention no queue on check out, didnt know if you were aware you could check out on your TV, we always do it that way.

I will get around to writing a report but we have been busy and tired then today we are off to the reload festival..with 9 x 80s acts in Norwich, my fav band of all time are headlining Human league although I have seen them countless times.

Got my bags delivered to my house yesterday so that was a relief
  • Yaaay 2 weeks till I'm off to Vegas again! Been lurking on here since my last trip, picking up lots of info as usual :T My last trip report was a rather alcoholic one and I've no doubt the next will be the same :D

Going to be celebrating my 30th whilst out there - perfect excuse for a trip I think - and I would love to take my friends somewhere for a champagne brunch on the day to say thanks to them for spending a fortune to come to Vegas to celebrate with me! I thought maybe Bouchon but really keen for any other suggestions?? Price not so much of an issue as long as one meal doesn't cost more than the holiday ;)

Also, flying with Virgin and I am Silver level FF with them - my friends are red - can we all check in/bag drop at the Prem. Economy desk or will they tell them to join the normal queue?
  • !!!!!! it. I just booked a 2-week open jaw in May, into New York and outta LAX for £277. Gonna drive across the country with my old man.

Brilliant -what route you going to take ?

I was thinking of doing an open jaw then using that cheap $116 fare PHL to LAS that keeps popping up as I quite fancy a stop in Philadelpia

We didn't see any sign of the shuttle in all the time we were waiting for the taxi. I think we were just unlucky as it was the Saturday of Labor weekend.
The shuttle stop is outside the door near the buffet, nowhere near the taxi line. That's why you didn't see it.

Hi we returned home on Saturday so it seems that we were there at the same time as photome and becksta.I will do a trip report later on when not so jet lagged but thought I would fill you all in on my nightmare passenger next to me on outward journey.
Spent the time in the airport playing the guessing game of who it would be made me quite nervous but it was worse than I imagined!
We climbed the stairs to the bubble and I smelt him before I even got to the seat-it was like hitting a wall of the worse B.O I have smelt before.I was gagging and not even hiding the holding of my nose.I asked the steward whether there were any seats left in extra legroom or anywhere else and he said he would find out after we had taken off. When he came back he said there were some at £50 and then I saw that he had hit the smell and I explained why I wanted to move he said leave it with him.He promptly moved me downstairs to extra legroom bulkhead seats free of charge.Afterwards he said they has all been smelling it but couldn't pinpoint who it was!!!Why do people think it's ok to sit for 10 hours stinking to high heaven and not even showering/deodorising before hand?.I saw him on the flight back but fortunately we were downstairs at the back so god help the poor people next to him after a week of blistering heat he must have stunk even worse yuk!!!!!:0

^That^ is one of my worst nightmares. I'm glad the flight attendant let you move without charge.

I'm quite excited as I think we are now in the window my hubby is willing to engage about planning stuff for our trip next month...today we went ahead and booked Shania tickets and pencilled in (not 100% official yet, mind) three meals that just make sense to go particular dates/times. By no means do I like to plan every waking minute of the trip but I do like to look at it objectively and see where certain things might work best on a particular day but if I do it too far out I mostly get eye rolling in return. :) I also swapped our car hire over to Alamo after going back and forth between the known and the potentially better.

Slightly annoyed that we cannot book our Living Social Raiding the Rock Vault tickets until we are in town but we should have 3 or 4 nights that will work so one of them should work.

We were just there in April but somehow it seems FOREVER ago...cannot wait to go back and I am really enjoying the trip reports lately.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Sorry for the late reply. No I didn't bother to sign up at SLS as we only popped in for a quick nose en route to Downtown. Didn't realise you got $5 free play otherwise I may have stuck around a bit longer.

I didn't know you could check out on the TV either. Im always learning on this forum :D

Going back to work tomorrow for 1st time since returning from Vegas. Not looking forward to it much

    I'm looking at:
Lon - Vegas (VA direct: Tue 9th june)
LAX - Lon (VA with Delta: Thu 18th june)
Lon - Oslo (BA: Sat 20th June)

£365 each!!!!!!! Given its a complete change of airline, it should be a bag collect anyway in Heathrow, so hope I can talk the wife into this tomorrow, as that's a bloody good price for the flight!!!!
No going to Oslo, it will just flag as a missed flight :)
