I tried and couldn't get it cheaper than the price mentioned plus it means less to worry about in terms of insurance.
Can anyone tell me if the hotel's resort fees shown include tax, if not, what is the % charged on top? Cheers!0 -
as said, booking with any UK broker, the insurance u need is included, along with CDW (loss waiver), so u would be OK anyway.....
I personally use Netflights.com (which use Alamo), work out to be pennies cheaper than auto-Europe for same rental firm.....
Just to note, you don't always get what you see in the picture, u will book a convertible, but always, its mustang or similar......, usual suspects are Mustang (V6), Sebring or Mitsu Spyder......, but u get to pick your car in the garage anyway.....
If booking a room with http://www.lowcostusa.co.uk/ , then it says if the Resort Fee is included or not, tax is always included...
If booking on none UK sites, its normally room + tax which is included and Not the Resort Fee... And if the site does show resort fee cost, then if memory serves, its 12.1% tax on top.... so $25 resort fee = $28....
Just out of interest to see if I can beat auto-Europe, what dates u doing for car hire, and is it the mustang convert u choosing, with or without the extra driver+fuel ?0 -

Thanks for the info about resort fees. You are more than welcome to try and beat the price (we've not booked the car hire just yet so I hope you can lol)
We arrive in LV on 21st September and depart on 3rd October. The Mustang convertible (or similar, of course) with one driver with the return tank full option.
ETA - the price we have been given by AE is £355.
Thanks0 -

I had a quick look and couldnt beat it , Carhire3000 offer to beat anyones price if you call them.
On Auto Europe I notice there was an option to hire with Dollar or Alamo.
I dont know what cars Alamo have at LAS but Dollar only have Mustangs in their convertible line up (of course that may change before september)0 -
ahh, thought u were going in a couple of months time, losing my marbles today !
prices sound good, even if I found a cheaper deal, it would be only pennies cheaper anyway !
Keep your options open for car hire, as booking this far away, u might miss out on a few deals!
I booked my car with Alamo.co.uk direct last year on the 25th Feb, ready for 1 week hire on May 25th....
That was a mustang convert with extra driver & fuel, total cost was £170.... nearly £80 less than it should have been...
Could have been a fluke or a website error, etc, either way, I booked and paid as soon as I saw it, got voucher, job done!
oh, and Alamo have the Sebring Converts and Mustangs at LAS... We had a choice of 5 mustangs and 1 sebring last year...0 -
I realise that this particular conversation is about a longer stay but the 'sweet spot' seems to be 8 day rentals.
On both netflights and autoeurope I've been playing with our car hire dates - starting March 27th and then returning 31st, Apr 1,2,3 etc as we are not sure yet how long we might want the car.
For example on autoeurope (convertible), 27th -31st = £140 to 1st = £175, 2nd = £180, then 3rd comes back down to £177 before going up again to over £200 for 4th.
Same pattern on netflights for other types of cars.0 -

Is that sweet spot 8 x 24 hour periods.
Booking in weekly blocks is usually the best value and often a weeks rental is the same price as 4 days, which i think is what you are finding0 -
Remember quidco for all your car rentals!!! 10% could move you from one company to anotherillegitimi non carborundum0

Photo and Stuie Great to know about Alamo and Dollar in regards to Mustangs, OH has his heart set on one.
I know we are booking the car hire really early and it probably is good advice to book later but figured we would get it now while we have the cash and risk missing out on a better deal.
Froggitt Excellent point about Quidco...currently 7% cashback on Auto Europe and 6% on Netflights0 -

that's what I've always found too - and why we normally try to pick our car up about the time we expect to be dropping it off so we don't end up paying for an extra day for a few hours...although the last few trips we've done 9 nights which ends up meaning that we pay for an extra day as I can't deal with the idea of not getting the car until the 2nd full day...we need our first day WalMart coffee maker/snackery run to complete settling in.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
