whilst I spend a lot of time on this site and in particular this thread it should be said that the OH is about the furthest thing you could find from a 'moneysavingexpert'.
Please remember that in the context of this question on one of the places she'd like to go on our upcoming visit - has anyone ever been to the Sunday Brunch at Bally's and felt that the cost is justified (reports suggest upwards of $80 per person)?0 -

I have been thinking for a whole about booking a trip to Vegas. it will be my first time & I travel solo.
how long do you think is long enough for your first trip? I imagine as a first timer you probably do a lot of the touristy things and need to spend a little time getting your bearings etc...
also I only really know Vegas from what yo see on tv / films but it's always been one of those places I'd like to see, so apart from casinos & shopping what else you recommend a first timer to check out? I'm willing to give anything a go so no limits.
thanks for reading & looking forward to your replies
There's honestly so much to see and do that I'd recommend working out how long you can afford to stay for. Then plan your itinerary to fit that, rather than the other way around. Especially since you say it's your "first" and not "once in a lifetime" trip. The first time I went to Vegas, I had four days downtown and didn't get bored. Second, six days just on the strip and didn't get to everything on my list. And so on...
Just to see the major casinos without spending hours in them - I'd say you'll need four full days. Divide it into regions - south strip, mid-strip, north strip and downtown. Each region has about 8 casinos to explore, plus shopping and dining. Once you add your check-in/check-out days (I use these for shopping and gambling) and travel time, it's already a week.0 -

hello guys,
looking forward to my second trip and this time its as best man for a wedding.
Going on 8th August and stopping in Aria for 9 nights flying from manc- got it for £1200 pp which I think was quite good?
Only 209 days to go and I cant wait to get back into trawling through these forums!0 -

Im due to go solo in Feb. Im going for 6 days. I booked my trip through travelbag who tailor made my trip. I have found the info on here really useful in terms of what I want to see.
I am on the south strip. I have booked a trip to the Grand Canyon and a show in the evening at Caesars Palace and Im leaving the rest of the time to see the other parts of the strip. A trip to Wallmart will be included on the agenda as well as dining at different eateries. Im not a gambler but will try my hand at a couple of attempts in the casino.
I dont know what the weather will be doing in Feb but will be going with the flow.
Theres tonnes of advice. I weighed up booking my own flight and hotel against an agent and its much of a muchness. The chap at Travel Bag had been to Vegas and was able to advise where to go.
I was thinking of fitting a trip to San Francisco on a day trip but dont think I will have the time.0 -

Do you know they are nearly 600 miles apart.
If only going for 6 days, IMO stick to Vegas and then next time add on some more days to take in other places
Yosemite is between Vegas and San F, that makes a great road trip0 -
Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...
Whose gonna be in Vegas in May ?
Me: May 19th - 22nd & 25th to 2nd June
Part of my Xmas present this year was 2 nights at the Palazzo for my birthday, so we will be there from the 28th May until the 30th at least. Thinking of escaping Vegas that weekend, and return on the 2nd until the 10th June.
BTW, anyone got any good ideas for a nice weekend away from Vegas (3 nights)? So far we've looked at Memphis (our favourite so far), San Fran (would probably like a bit more time), Houston (not feeling it) and San Diego (thinking too crowded that weekend).
Never thought I would be bitten by the Vegas bug, but alas, now planning my 4th trip in 2 years!0 -

Just one place ? How boring
Seriously a day trip to Frisco is very do-able- I picked a random Saturday in Feb and came up with several options out early back late for around £100 without looking too hard. Virgin America have some good flight prices .
For a first time visit and a short one at that I probably would say there's too much to do in Vegas to bother-especially as Febuary has shorter days , more risk of flight delays and SF can be quite cold then and it would make more sense pricewise to tack SF onto the begining or end of a trip so there's no time wasted backtracking but I am a big fan of adding extra places to trips anywayI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0
