  • I'm just finishing off updating the front page... and just wondered, does anyone recommend the Fashion Outlets at Primm? Are they vastly different/better than the North/South Premium Outlets?

They are different but not 'better' in my opinion. We went last trip because it was raining. It only takes an hour to get there from memory and is easy if you have a car. We bought a few things there, so I would never rule it out. I wouldn't be bothered going on a bus tour to it because they end up taking up most of the day!

I used to go there as they have a Hollister......and its not all dark so you cant see the stuff. Often, with the various discounts, the Hollister stuff is about 75% off ticketed price.

The bus goes from MGM (or it used to) and was $15 return, although you can often find vouchers.

Mall is attached to one of the casino hotels.

  • ok, I've had a sweep of the front page posts, updating links and some of the text.

The main post I have no experience of is the car hire one, so if anyone has anything to update that with, or ideas for it, just shout.

I'll have a proper read through this week for any typos, etc.

But if there's anything incorrect, let me know, or if there's anything you think we should add, let me know!

Car hire post. IMHO remove dollar.com as it is a US site that wont include the insurances that a UK punter would need. Also add opodo.co.uk which I used and was fine. http://www.auto-europe.co.uk/ also seems to have the right insurances

Insurance is usually the thing that is confusing. Im happy to be corrected, but the things to look out for inclusion are....

    Zero Excess
    Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
    Theft
    Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI)

just looking around at possible shows for our next trip and I had not noticed this before on availability at Tix4Tonight, for example.

    http://www.tix4tonight.com/raiding-the-rock-vault.html

says Availability:Discount show tickets are available at Tix4Tonight 75-100% of the time.

By contrast O which we know rarely crops up there says

Availability:Discount show tickets are available at Tix4Tonight 0-25% of the time.

I didn't notice at whatever point they started disclosing this sort of info on their website but might be handy for someone considering using them to get a general steer.

If we can get a decent discount in advance via smartervegas or travelzoo, etc. we'll usually just do that...but we do talk about tix4tonight sometimes.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

How about Denver, Phoenix or Salt Lake City? Without knowing what sorts of things you like to do or see it's a bit hard to suggest though.

Thank you Duchy, will for sure check these out. In short we are quite easy going and like anything from music, historical places to tacky tourist parks and anything in between. Hence why we're finding it a bit tricky to decide. So far having an addiction to Simon Calder's travel guides to seek inspiration Sorry for deviating a little from Vegas talk!

Thank you as well to whoever suggested keeping a spreadsheet to track hotel prices, it really is of great help :D So far it looks like a lot of hotel swaps, starting with Palazzo before our weekend away from Vegas, then onto Aria (still love this hotel!) and the last weekend at Palms (hubby's request). The latter being great for a trip to Wizard of Suds of course (thanks to whoever suggested this place, oh so nice to come home from our last trip with a suitcase full of clean clothes).

I do wonder though, when will the spring offers from Mlife come out? And how soon/ long after your trip is your play taken into consideration? Our trips were in April/ May and November.

Also checked our Mife tax statement, and overall we were down just over $100 from our play over the 2 trips, and with $60 taken of our bill on our last visit it wasn't so bad :)

I'll send over my experience with Car hire, as I've used Dollar and Alamo, and more importantly, I don't have a Credit Card....
will write something in work on Monday :)

Just watching the show on The Palazzo on C5+1 now ahhhh amazing!

I want to go back to Cosmo but it's definitely more expensive than last year. I racked up big points through slots and haven't had an email with an offer from them yet :(

Sometimes logging in and checking your points balance can trigger something on the Cosmopolitan website.
