Could anyone who has booked a flight with Virgin confirm how the airmiles work?

For instance if i decide to spend air miles or go airmiles plus £££ will i still earn the 11,000 odd airmiles on the actual flight?

You dont earn miles if you pay for the flight with miles or miles plus money

    Thanks for the replies guys!

From what I have seen so far booking seperately seems to be working out better than booking together.

I am trying to see if can find a deal as a combo, my friend went last year for 9 nights all in for £900 staying at Venetian!

That was a fantastic price for Venetian if it included airfare, did it? If so who with?

The Venetian on offer is usually around $129 a night plus tax plus resort fee, so about £100 a night

Thanks for confirming, if 2000 miles plus money drops ticket to £638 and normal price is £705 would it be better to just pay in full and get 11,000 miles added to my balance?

If booked to third party agent and paid in full are airmiles still earned?

I am not sure who with but it was hotel and flight booked through ebookers travelling last May. There were 9 of them so maybe got a group discount, still like you say an amazing price

Can I get some recommendations for hotels please?

My sister & I both in early 40's are planning a trip in April '15 for 4 nights & want somewhere with either a room each or 2 double beds for up to £150 a night in total per night.

Vegas rooms will have one king or two queens - a few places will guarantee bed type but it's normally a request so there's a chance you could get a king...but in our experience it's easier to get two queens.

Prices vary dramatically between weekdays and weekends - so depending on which 4 days your options could be more extensive...obviously if you are happy to share a room the type of room you can get for £150/night will change dramatically...for £150/night you will have a lot of choices for quite nice hotels.

We're mid-40s and while not the target market we do like Cosmo - I could see some people feeling out of place there...but it depends on whether you want something extra special or a nice room in a nice hotel, really. Maybe Venetian or Palazzo, though they are more toward the north end of the Strip it's all relatively close together.

Even somewhere like the right room in Planet Hollywood - the resort room we had was fantastic and had a great view too.

    REally are so many options...
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I used Priceline recently and thought the same as you that I was getting the Westin at a good rate, what I actually got for dates in October near east of the strip was the Hard Rock @ $720 for 2 rooms for 7 nights, resort fees to be added later. While I am happy wit this I would have liked nearer the strip

Glad you said that. I've looked up Hard Rock and it's about £25 per night for those dates so it would make total sense.

i am constantly checking virgin flight prices and now they have gone down to £664, would you recommend to keep waiting, are they more likely to go down than up?

Have managed to find cosmo 2 queen beds for £719 inclusive of resort fees

Thanks ferf, yes I statred googling yesterday on rooms & had to stop, there was so much information :D

I think we want something special & preferably one of the big names too. :p

We will be going over a weekend, fly out thursday leave sunday night so do expect to pay more for that.

I think it is probably best that I keep googling then ask back here for opinions on hotels & the types of rooms. Like I said this is probably the only time either of us will go there so we do want it to be memorable.

Thanks for taking the time to reply :)

Has any one stayed at the bellagio & know if their rooms in our price range are decent? (or if they have rooms in our price range :rotfl:)
I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.
