For anyone else interested in dabbling on priceline...I've just spotted what appears to be The Westin for £19 in September. Now, I can't be sure, but it's the only 4* reported to date in 'near strip east' location. I could even be tempted to split my stay at Platinum at those prices!!

There's a number to call on the confirmation - use the International Call Checker for cheap ways to call the US.

    http://callchecker.moneysavingexpert.com/intcallchecker/

Or search the thread for the way Stuie has found (I revert to the call checker because I am lazy).

Have both confirmation numbers ready - and your mlife numbers (I think)...I can't remember if they will want to speak to both people or will go ahead with just one on the phone.

Don't worry if the seats are aways back, they are better than the close-up seats as usual for Cirque shows.

Yes one of the top hotels at the best price we can find, got a quote for MGM at £185pp for 4 nights, personally not keen to stay there

you don't say what room type but to me MGM is not in the class of the other two and it's not somewhere I've ever fancied.

I agree with pebbles - in general I wouldn't be booking pp...unless it's one of the higher-end properties and somewhere like lowcostusa really does beat the booking direct options...it takes some research and it may be too early for the best deals for next March, really (though depending on when, exactly, it might be a busy time as I said before)...if you found somewhere as a back-up booking direct, you could get it booked and cancel closer to the time if you found something better/cheaper if you wanted to get something locked in that you would be happy with if nothing else came up.

We have stayed at MGM a couple of times. Got a good deal on a Celebrity Spa Suite both times. I think last time we paid either $90 or $110 for a spa suite including 2 all day buffet passes daily. Fab rate considering the food inclusion and we really enjoyed the hotel and the buffet. Lazy River is fun. :) Haven't stayed for a few years because there are other places we like more. We have become quite fond of Platinum, and also less fond of multiple bookings. This year we will have 3 hotels before we even arrive in Vegas, so don't really want to add too much to that.

Temptation is there with good deals at hotels we like. We stayed at Westin a few times, like Green Valley Ranch for a few nights. Also tempted to try Red Rock. Maybe not this year though. I think I need to go for a bit longer, like Pebbles maybe. :rotfl:

    :D:D
Still, 1p per min for a call to the US aint bad! :D

Thanks Ferf for this & Stuie for this:

you need to call the myVegas desk to book your stuff, sooooooooooo, use the number i said to get free calls:
*Tel: 0161 3113111 (listen to notes for 5 secs, then dial 001 + myvegas number which is with the instructions for your purchase...

The rep answers, asks how they can help, say you want to redeem a show, they ask which show, then ask for your confirmation number which is in your myvegas purchase..
they then ask for your mlife number, then the date and time u want, then ding ding, your all booked!! :D shows and rooms are no different in the booking......
pick up tickets from the box office on the day before 4pm, or teh day before if allowed...

It took me a 11min phone call as rep system was slow, but everything worked as said above, hopefully it will be a freebie!

it has probably taken us about that long when we have called too.

We normally pick up our tickets before the day of the show if we're in the area...we prefer having them in hand and knowing we just need to get to the theatre in time...we've never had trouble picking our tickets up 2 or 3 or 4 days in advance.

I really love Love, it's such a fun show...and I'm not even a Beatles fan.

What seats did you get? We've seen it from the front row, middle and back row and there really aren't any bad seats...there's a lot going on and being a bit further back you can more easily take it all in. :)

I regret that we cancelled our Celebrity Spa Suite in 2010...we had a good deal on it (about $90/night too) and that's probably the sort of room that could get us there - I live in fear of those west tower rooms or whatever that people have posted photos of - the ones with the tiny window above the bed...looking back we also had a reservation about the same time for The Hotel at MB that we cancelled as well...I'm assuming we were in the booking a few options mode..looking back I cannot work out what we actually ended up doing but we have never stayed at MGM or The Hotel. :)

as for moving - we decided that our last trip (haven't gotten to the TR yet) was too many hotels...we had 5 nights at Caesars, 2 nights at Cosmo, 2 at TI and the second night at Cosmo/first night at TI were double booked at Mirage as we figured hey let's try it...we agreed that next trip we'll go back to two hotels with maybe an overnight somewhere where we don't actually have to check out...one move in 8-10 nights is enough for us. One of these trips we will finally stay downtown.

That's a shame you cancelled MGM. We were unsure at first and ended up returning the next year with family. I think we were $90 the first time and $115 the second time. Second time included the buffet passes right through. You could also get a glass of bubbly for $2 in the buffet. This was before the days of resort fees, so it was a steal.

I love the idea of staying somewhere nice one night on a deal, and not checking out however I totally grudge it when we're at Platinum because it's $122 per night and to me it's a waste if we were to go stay somewhere else. If we were on a trip though that we stayed somewhere cheaper and saw a good deal at a bit of a different location or hotel we'd never stayed at I'd definitely do it.

Must admit, I'm quite tempted at to do a couple of nights at GVR or Red Rock. We arrive on the 9th though and it's my 40th that day. I kind of feel like I want to arrive and settle at Platinum, maybe some pool time, and then happy hour at Stir before heading out for some dinner. We'll be arriving by car so we'll be able to arrive early-ish. But then it would be quite nice to arrive at GVR as well. We'd have the car anyway, enjoy the shopping at Henderson... I am slightly concerned our nightly rate could increase though if we were to take a couple of weeknights off. It's an 11 night booking...but I doubt I'd tire of the Platinum.
