Yes i have, i mean based on peoples experiences ie am sure there will be instances where it may not be worth getting a certain room upgrade.

Have also heard can sometimes tip the check in clerk to get a room upgrade, anyone done this before?

whether an upgrade is worth it is down to personal preference really...we've never been successful in complimentary upgrades at either Wynn or Cosmo (we have at several other properties) but took a paid upgrade at Cosmo last trip. We thought that the Terrace one bedroom with a fountain view was worth the cost of the upgrade from Terrace studio ($40/night in our case and they didn't charge us early check-in fee either - but we were comped for the nights we were there so $40/night was a steal), others might not...it's all relative to what has value to someone...we like the Japanese soaking tub and we like the fountain view...to others neither would be interesting enough to book the room initially or pay for the upgrade at check-in.

If you told us which rooms you were considering and which alternates/upgrades and the cost of the upgrade you were wondering if may be worth it people may be able to give you their experiences.

Have you read the info on the front page? There's a section there about tipping for upgrades too.

travelzoo is doing $98 tickets, but not much of a saving... there is usually someone standing outside the venue at CP giving out flyers which I think were for 20% or $20 off - so don't know how that would work out?

Thanks, saw that on Tripadvisor, $20 off with flyer from around that area. I'll see if we can find out if that's still happening too.

We have seen Absinthe and really enjoyed it. You have to be quite broad minded though. They used to had out $20 off coupons outside the venue during the day.

Have you considered Rose. Rabbit. Lie.? It's a new show at the Cosmo by the same people.

Thanks. Have heard someone else mention Rose Rabbit Lie but I have no idea what it is. I'll look it up though, thanks! :T

Cosmo has it's own clubs, unless you specifically want to go to the ones at Wynn. Cosmo would also out you much closer to the MGM where the likes of Calvin Harris and Triesto regularly appear.

I don't do clubs either, but have heard that the one at Wynn is supposed to be good. If it makes it a reason to stay nearby there is also Venetian and Palazzo (available on Priceline - shout out if you need help with that). Or even Trump across the road is nice, but not for everyone. Or Treasure Island is a fun hotel with fun pool, or even Mirage. I'm throwing in too many ideas now though. :rotfl: That's the thing about Vegas, sometimes it's just too hard to choose!

I'm not sure a group of 8 guys would easily be able to get into a club without buying table service? But I don't really know how these things work...I have seen the queues for at least one of the clubs at Wynn...XS queue can be massive...maybe hotel guests have an advantage? Something worth considering looking into if clubs are an important part of the trip as maybe that will swing which hotel might work. I suppose we've seen big queues for other clubs as well.

Also curious if anyone has seen:-

    V the Ultimate Variety Show

    or

    Vegas! The Show

These are coming up discounted these days and I seem to remember thinking they looked ok. Any thoughts?

Yes, have seen both of them. Can't really comment on V The Variety Show as it changes so often. The one we saw was good.

I think Vegas! The Show would be the better one if you were only booking one as it was quite good. However our show started and ended late and we had to leave early as we had dinner reservations.
