it has probably taken us about that long when we have called too.

We normally pick up our tickets before the day of the show if we're in the area...we prefer having them in hand and knowing we just need to get to the theatre in time...we've never had trouble picking our tickets up 2 or 3 or 4 days in advance.

I really love Love, it's such a fun show...and I'm not even a Beatles fan.

What seats did you get? We've seen it from the front row, middle and back row and there really aren't any bad seats...there's a lot going on and being a bit further back you can more easily take it all in. :)

Sounds great, it was the standard tickets at 40K LP's I never caught the blocks etc but it was seats 46 & 47, looking on the map it must be block 200 or 209 :)

Check out Planet Hollywood. It has a young vibe. It's right across the street from Cosmo and far cheaper. The first page has links to total rewards and you can join up online to get offers.

Personally, I wouldn't book with anyone giving a pppn figure, but that's just me. It's usually not the way hotels sell their rooms in Vegas. We are currently at PH paying $40 per night for both of us.

Thanks for reply, above is actually based on room price / 2. Price from lowcostusa

Most people in group looking for MGM now it seems due to price

I'd check other links on the first page - lowcostusa seems (in my experience which I admit is limited) to give pretty good rates for the higher-end hotels, but not necessarily for the mid-range properties...you may find something close enough to consider booking direct as a back-up and then reviewing again closer to the trip...it's worth looking at, at least...booking direct you'll normally only pay the first night's deposit up front too.

Based on what you've said it sounds like MGM is coming in about £25 per person per night less than Wynn (or £50 per night based on 2 sharing, so say $82/night difference)? That sounds odd to me...unless it's a particularly nice room at MGM?

In any event pebbles' idea about checking on Planet Hollywood might be worth looking into if MGM is now in the mix and they've gone away from the higher-end places.

For anyone else interested in dabbling on priceline...I've just spotted what appears to be The Westin for £19 in September. Now, I can't be sure, but it's the only 4* reported to date in 'near strip east' location. I could even be tempted to split my stay at Platinum at those prices!!

I used Priceline recently and thought the same as you that I was getting the Westin at a good rate, what I actually got for dates in October near east of the strip was the Hard Rock @ $720 for 2 rooms for 7 nights, resort fees to be added later. While I am happy wit this I would have liked nearer the strip

Can I get some recommendations for hotels please?

My sister & I both in early 40's are planning a trip in April '15 for 4 nights & want somewhere with either a room each or 2 double beds for up to £150 a night in total per night.

We want to be on the strip, walking distance to all the main hotels & the buses etc.

This is a first time & probably a last time visit for both of us so we want something a bit special. Recommnedations for rooms to book/avoid in the the hotels too so we get a good view, no cubby hole slit windows looking at a back wall for us please :D.

Thanks in advance for your wealth of knowledge. :)

Thanks for your replies ferf, greatly appreciated.

I am trying hard to convince group to go with wynn or cosmo. Based on this if I am successful, would you say lowcostusa is best platform for prices?

I think prices so far are £578 for deluxe room 2 beds @ Wynn and
    £776 City room 2 beds @ Cosmo

Could anyone who has booked a flight with Virgin confirm how the airmiles work?

For instance if i decide to spend air miles or go airmiles plus £££ will i still earn the 11,000 odd airmiles on the actual flight?

To get the best price you should check prices various places, not assume one will be best...lowcostusa seems to regularly have good prices for the higher-end properties, but that may not always be the case...without checking the various options it's impossible to say. There's a good list on the first page of both 3rd parties and links to sites that compile offers available to the general public when booking direct with the hotels. We never use 3rd parties but some here have had good luck with lowcostusa and when we booked Cosmo a few trips ago they beat the Cosmo direct price for our dates.

Check which room those rates are at the MGM. You *really* don't want a Petite Kin formerly known as the West Wing. The rooms are tiny. However they only have one king bed so maybe not what you are looking for.

We are currently in an Executive Queen suite at the MGM booked through Lowcostusa for £262 which is $61 a night net of resort fee and tax. It is huge and would be great for 8 guys getting together before going out.

I agree with PH having a young vibe.

I also agree with ferf that you shouldn't be pricing in GBP pppn. Vegas rooms are priced in USD for the room, not per person and those that go regularly will have a better idea what is a good rate if you quote like that. You can change the currency in LCUSA to USD. It's also not clear from the rates you have quoted whether they include resort fee and / or tax.

    Thanks for the replies guys!

From what I have seen so far booking seperately seems to be working out better than booking together.

I am trying to see if can find a deal as a combo, my friend went last year for 9 nights all in for £900 staying at Venetian!
