Yes, we got 5 again today nvh.
I wonder if you 'earn' them. I can't believe you're not logging on every day...I can't bear to miss a day!!at the moment, I don't want to waste too much time on it (in case it is wasted time) - but I do see it as a healthy way of keeping my TR balance alive until we go back
edit: just read the other posts to see i'm not alone!0 -
a warning about fees for returning a hire car late.
We knew we would be late returning the car after our flight was delayed on the way back and accepted that there would be a fee.
What we did not consider was that Dollar charge an hourly fee ($14 per hour in our case) plus the DAILY charge for any insurance waivers that were extended - those from our original booking...as we had an inclusive booking with rentalcars.com they extended all of that coverage and charged us the full daily rate for each.
So our 1:21 minute late return cost $92.45...of which $28 + tax was the actual late fee...the rest was all insurance waivers and the tax on them.
I tried to challenge it on the basis that my Express membership declines all coverage but they say that doesn't matter when you've booked on a voucher.
I can see in the T&Cs of the rental agreement that it does support this...paying the daily fee for LDW, SLI, etc for any day or part day...so I can't see that I have any option but to suck it up.
But it was a bit of a shock.
In the end, we probably would have kept the car for the extra 1:21 if we had known what the charges would be rather than just sit an extra 1:21 at the airport but it was painful to see that total and thought in case it helped anyone else to know about this in case they are thinking about a late return at some point.
Yeah, they add on every extra they can to the daily rate, and you are stuffed. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
hmmm, 3 again here today - I'm well behind on watching youtube etc so will try and hit them, catch up and hopefully get bumped to 5

We are both back to 3 shares todayThat said, I don't think I have use for any more today anyway.
Edited to add: I did have a load more stuff to share..and it's 5 point stuff so would have been nice to shift a few extra.0 -
Palms buffet is on Travelzoo. I don't think I've had a Travelzoo deal email for a while come to think of it.
Anyone done this buffet? Is $17.50 pp a good deal including drinks?
We do have a LVA book (arrived today!) so I should probably check how I would use the 50% come at Palms if it's still in the book this year.

We had exactly the same thing with Dollar. We had a delay and returned the car an hour late, didn't think for 1 minute that they would charge us, thought they would allow a little leeway, the funny thing is it would have shown up on the receipt you get when you take the car back, but the attendant "just so happened to have run out of paper". I would have challenged it then and there, but had to wait for our CC bill to come in and found an extra $94 dollars had been taken out.

I'm kind of glad we're not alone.
We did get the receipt and I did question it at the Express booth and the girl said about the insurance waivers not being prorated...I had a pending query with Dollar as I thought my Express settings might have arguably overridden that and they might refund but they are sticking to their guns...and based on the T&Cs I can't see that they're wrong, as such..it just kind of sucks...to pay a full day's insurance waivers for a little over an hour.
Still, at least I can now say what the insurance-related costs are at LAS if anyone wants to compare to booking on dollar.com without any insurance waivers vs UK 3rd party all-inclusive.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Lesley, you were asking about Absinthe at T4T. They had them yesterday at $90.0

Yes the 5 shares a day only lasted for 2 days before returning to 3.0

Used our Social Rewards / Total Rewards credits at the Eiffel Tower restaurant last night and it was very good. Although we eat at high end places, this is one where I doubt we would have booked unless it was practically free.0
