  • Thank you very much, my knitted items are all done on a loom. Yesterday my mum taught me some needle knit (posted a pic of a random square in my Flickr lol). I am so happy with the result its much better than I had anticipated the colours to be together ;).

I'm just distracted from my list with helping DD1 knit a blanket for her friend.. it is lots of squares and their baby is due in a few weeks and she knits too slowly to get it done in time.. so I'm helping.. she has done 3 squares so far and I have done 7... of 36 in total. Am I allowed to add this to my list? Or as it isn't mine it doesn't count?

  • youre doing it so of course it counts. lots of things on lists are gifts so the fact you are helping someone to complete a gift doesn't matter at all you are doing it so it can be one of your 14. look forward to updates and i hope it gets finished in time

im just making a start on a valentines card for my dh, its from a kit i bought last summer

Pigpen - I agree with MrsMP if you are doing part of it you can count it. If you weren't doing your share it wouldn't get done so definitely I count it as your make.

Tricksie - wonderful updated list, you are doing so well.

I've made a start on Anne of Cleves but she is boring colours so may take me slightly longer. On a positive note there isn't a lot of her to do.

Warning off topic - came back in last night to find our heating isn't working :( trying to source a new fan for the boiler but boy is it cold. Back kn topic - makes it hard to cross stitch when my fingers are so cold.

Thank you Ailsb, I am enjoying everything on my list, especially as everything is from my stash which always makes me feel virtuous :A:A:A

I am thinking about making a couple of chunky cushion covers for the lounge as I bought 24 balls of cream yarn to make two cricket jumpers but got halfway up the back of one and didn't like it.... so I bought one from TK Maxx!! I was inspired by 'The Great Interior Design Challange' when a lady was taking a break from painting and knitting a cushion cover. Mmmm I thought, I could do that :)

Henry VIII is looking good. Don't know how you feel about backstitch, but I would be inclined to do it as I go, I hate doing it all at the end :(

Hope boiler is fixed soon x

  • Good Afternoon All!!!

Lovely crafts, Roz I love your headband, you will have to take some pics of them on as well so we can see how they look! Ailsb you are making wonderful progress with Henry - I love your updates of that project. Pigpen I would definitely count it towards your 14, especially if it is distracting you from what you already had listed! picked up this kit a couple of years ago at a carboot sale and used it to make DH a card for valentines also made his anniversary card while i was doing it. Quite nice to do and easy enough instructions to follow i think i'll use the idea again and made some more in a similar style using some of the sequins left over from the stocking kit.

    ive completed 6/14 now
