    I've been Money Tipped!
Thank you but I'm much better at painting, but as long as I'm trying, I'm happy!

I'm currently converting a cupboard into a crafting cubby hole so don't think I'll be getting anything done for a short while

  • Carlamarie - your ipad cover looks fabulous!
Some great ideas on everyones lists.... x
  • I've made a start on the hot air balloon. In my mind I know what I want it to look like but so far it looks a bit different... :/ I'm doing it without a pattern, which probably explains why it's a bit flat at the top instead of rounded. Also, my last needle snapped last night, so I can't actually finish it without popping up to town. No sure if I can be bothered to go today. Feeling a bit bleurgh. The weather is just awful.

    Sorry for the moan. :(

Should be sorting my books for the return to Uni tomorrow, but think I will crochet a few more triangles... May have this bunting done by the end of the month ( just need to sneak a quick crafty make for my mum's 60th this Thursday though)

Flowerofscotland what a lovely way to remember soulie. I hope its not too late to join. This will help me to achieve several of this year's goals. One of which is to finish my wip's and another is to learn to crochet. Here is partial list:
      1. Finish E.A.'s welcome quilt
      2. Finish my French Garden quilt (a very expensive block of the month bought in better financial times (the guilt). I will have to commit to completing at least a block a month.
      3. Beside the seaside cross stitch.
      4. Something crocheted
      5. Mandy Shaw's 'recycle those jeans denim quilt for DD (17 this year)
      6. Cushion covers for the sofas (5). Must be colourful, sick of beige!
      7. All our yesterday's cross stitch. Mum-in-law's unfinished project
      8. Mid-winter trellis cushion covers (charity shop buy)
      9. Table runner (using charm pack)
      10. Tray cloth for my miniature tea set
      11. Blue cord tote
      12. Striped blue bag
      13. Quilted coasters
      14.
As an extra challenge I will be honest if I buy ANYTHING to complete these projects and stop fooling myself :

CarlaMarie - love the iPad case. What's it made from?

Some lovely ideas on here, can't wait to see photos once people satrt to finish things. In fact I'd love to see photos of work in progress - thought I'd declare my nosiness.

I've had chance to think about my list and here it is. Sorry it's not very exciting.

      1. Finish hardanger SAL from Mable Figworthy – I started this last year but couldn’t master the cut out stitches so gave up. I have decided to give this another go but to improvise and do a “filler stitch” instead of the cut out.
      2. Try to finish A - Z Nativity cross. Have only put try to finish as I started this and wasn’t happy with how it was stitching up and as it’s on 18 count I am struggling with it. Will see how it goes.
      3. Finish quilt for bed - large project and first quilt I've done. Majority of squares have been completed but need to sew the squares together and actually make into quilt.
      4. Finish Rock, Paper, Scissors, Spoke, Lizard cross stitch. I’m about half way through this one and this is the one I’d like to get finished first.
      5. Stitch Pairs or Spoils Tree cross stitch. Haven’t decided which one yet, will amend list once I’ve decided which to do.
      6. Knit waistcoat with wool I’ve had for almost 12 months – finished knitting but need to sew it up.
      7. Sew up the two jumpers (not including the waistcoat above) that I have had knitted for 12 months.
      8. Knit 3 pairs of adult bootees (slipper sock sort of thing), to be used for Christmas presents.
      9. Finish pair of knitted socks. I have one finished at the moment.
      10.
      11.
      12.
      13.
      14. Learn to crochet

I think it’s a shame we don’t all live closer as judging by the number of us that want to learn to crochet we could do with a self help group. I’ve put learn to crochet last on my list not because I want to leave this to last but because I don’t hold much hope to actually mastering it. I’ve tried on several occasions and had no joy, I’ve tried books, DVD’s and watching youtube but no joy. Think I need to find a class and see if that works.

I will amend my list as and when.

      morning all

done a bit more of my Oz stocking, have completed lion and scarecrow since i posted a photo in last years thread.

      th_IMG_0660_zpscf8926df.jpg

started a fringed scarf last night -basically cast on enough stitches to make it as long as you want leave about 8inches of wool at each end and every row uses a different colour wool so as you work you are knitting a row of colour and leaving a fringe end at each end of the row carry on untill scarf is as wide as you want it to be. I've chosen about 8 balls of wool from my stash all in different shades of pink/purple.

carlamarie, love how youve finished off your ipadcase
love everyones list some great ideas.
taking inspiration from someones idea, i have a bridesmaids dress i wore as a child at my aunties wedding. she sadly died a few years ago. I'd like to think of a way of converting the dress into cushion covers so i have a nice memory of my aunt that can be displayed and hopefully enough fabric to make my mum and my sister one each as well.
