May I join please ? I have several bits to complete,and some to start new but maybe not 14.

1. Easter card for my sister & various Birthday cards
2. something for the dolls house 1:12 scale
3. sew a few more sequins on a black/red/white serape
4. do something with a finished blue flowers cross-stitch
5. Make up a finished cross-stitch post box into a Christmas card
6. Christmas card kits to prepare for my grandson (3-4yrs) to do.
7. a DIY project, probably shelves
8. restring some beads - done 12Jan
9. a button for my Excel spreadsheet
10. to 14 tba

I have a flickr account.
My most recent project was this Advent Calendar

I noticed it is possible to set up a group on flickr, by invitation and wondered if this would be useful.

...but I know very little about flickr groups.

Am good to crochet, knit, paint, cross-stitch.

I quilt, sometimes knit and am teaching DD to dressmake so might have a go at making clothes again after 20 years.

BTW am not man. My forum name derives from a Welsh word and a place.

I was given a sewing machine from Santa , :j , so I think this challenge would really help me and it's on behalf of somebody clearly special to this website.
1. Sew a dress!
2. Sew some gift bags for next Christmas
3. Think of more things for this list! :rotfl::rotfl:

welcome to the new joiners and those browsing to see what we are all about.
A little background on the thread: Soulie was a much loved and valued member of the cross stitch cafe on mse, she loved all type of crafts so decided to set up this thread last year to give her and us the oppotunity to share and show pictures of our other non cross stitch makes as well as cross stitch ones. she set the challenge originally of 13 things in 2013 as it would push us to finish some of those started but never finished or in my case bought but never started kits.
This thread was the baby of that one and it was the idea and suggestion of the lovely Flower of Scotland to carry on the thread in Soulies memory. I think she would be happy that she is still inspiring so many of us to get our crafting things out and turn them into beautiful items wether for ourselves or as gifts.

Happy crafting, and were a nosy lot so we look forward to seeing your ideas and photos;)

The button isn't strictly sewing craft but it's definitely something I 'make'. The idea is to click the button & it will insert today's date - speeding up my entries for the Advent comps

A friend of mine, Angie, would have loved this thread. We met online on a craft thread & subsequently met up IRL, Angie was an avid mosaic fan. Sadly went the same way as your Soulie last year

the button sounds a great idea and the threads not just for sewing crafts, if you make it, it counts. so come on you bakers, jewellery makers, glass painters or any other kind of crafter. If you want to set a goal of trying to make 13 things this year please feel free to join us.

I've just joined the challenge, what a great idea in the memory of a sad loss. I have my first few projects lined up so my target will be the 14 for 2014. I am an all round amateur crafter so hopefully this challenge will help me progress with my craftiness. I look forward to seeing posts and acheivements.

welcome Dainty, as you decide on your projects you can make a list or you can list them as they are done, nothing is cast in stone as we all know that plans and ideas change so the 14 you first plan may not be the ones you end up with.
keep posting and you'll soon lose the 'newbie' status and be able to post photos if you want to.

FlowerofScotland will be along soon i'm sure to add all the new joiners to the list on the first page.
