Yet they can afford Virgin Media.

In this day and age satellite TV is a must for most poorer people who can't afford their rent.
I no longer pay for sky TV and just have the free channels and I can afford it but choose not to have it.
My kids have survived without it for a year and had the money for Christmas instead.

The two vertical cables on the left aren't connected, they aren't vm cables by the look of it, the brown one looks like its been there a while?

The new install looks like it's the taped cables on the bottom and the verticals one on the right.

Vm wouldn't touch non vm cables, is there sky or an old aerial installed prior to this?

Yes I think there is an old aerial cable which was there before they moved in and are not in use. They were going to get the landlord to remove them last time I complained but he never did.
I will just remove the cables which are not connected and VM can deal with the rest.

Yes two weeks is too long. If I have to wait that long than I had better get compensation.
I am sure they would come out much quicker if I cut it.

I could kick myself right now. Why did I chose to be civil and do things properly. Cutting the wires Christmas morning would have been fun and would teach them a lesson.:A
For one day of my life I would like to walk on the wild side. Hehehe
