It does look messy. Where do the cables, leading upwards, go ? I have a pre-Virgin box (not used) but it only has cable coming from the conduit laid down the edge of the lawn; nothing going upwards.0

That is quite possibley the worst install I have seen! The brown box, The Omni Box, should be attached to the wall where the cable is going into. The omni basically hides the connection of external to internal as well as providing basic water protection to the cable. The hole should also be drilled at an upward angle from outside to stop any water trickling into the property. I would contact VM immediately and have an engineer round as soon as possible becasue not only does it look horrendous, it is not providing any shield against the elements. It may not all be your neighbours fault you have remember though. Many install engineers do not educate customers as to what they are doing and why but a simple conversation between you two should iron it out and with you both on the same side, you can get the wrong doers (VM) to rectify the fault and compensate you both0

I'm no expert but I would say the engineer was challenged by 2 things:
1. The cable emerges from the ground adjacent to your wall, not theirs, and 2. Perhaps he had difficultly fitting the box flat on those awful cream tiles?
You can see other holes to the left of where the cables enter next doors property. If you will the end, you must will the means.0 -

The more I think about it the worse I feel.
So I have gone back to next door and knocked on their window so I know they heard me.
I tried to keep calm and didn't start shouting but I did ask why is the box back on my wall and that they knew I won't like it.
She did say that she told them not to put the box on my wall and she doesn't know why they did. I don't believe a word of it and they could have said something about it because you can see it when you are walking down the road.
Not even a sorry.
I have told her to call them now and get it removed asap and that I have complained to VM.
The CEO office have emailed me to say they will deal with my complaint.Smile loan - £2821.98 / £0:)

Well not a public forum anyway and to be honest I don't know their story (even though I can guess)
