Assuming you own your house, I would want the wall to be reinstated to it's original condition and a gesture of goodwill, too.

Yes, I do own my own house and next door is rented. I do now want everything removed and holes repaired. I did state in my email I want compensation, I aimed for a high figure because I was so upset this morning so I will see what they decide to come back with but it's not really about money for me, it is just not ok to do this.
I will chase them again tomorrow morning at 11am if they haven't called me.

If however it was to happen again I would be charging wall rental space fees. Think of a number, double it and charge it
    then add VAT! :)

I thought you were exaggerating, seeing the picture you clearly are not.

There is even a cable just loose, tucked in behind another one

Not only did he not ask permission, and I'm sure they are trained to do that, he's crap at his job by the looks of it.

As their TV is so loud, you probably know if they are a corry fan or eastenders, if they are wait till the Christmas show and cut the wires then.

Blimey, that is a mess. I hope they get it fixed for you quickly.

Mind you when I had VM installed, they couldn't get the cable through the underground piping to my house so they cabled it to my neighbours box and then ran a cable from my neighbours box to mine (they are less than a foot apart) as a temporary measure and another engineer would call back in the following days to sort it properly - over 5 years later still not been done!!

I would love to do that, but the neighbours can't even afford their rent and they are now hiding from me and not answering the door. They did post me a Christmas card very late on Friday night so they know I will not be happy.

Just sent an email to Tom Mockridge and Mark Davidson. I don't want it on my wall it looks awful with loads of wires on my house whilst my neighbour has none.

Yet they can afford Virgin Media.

The two vertical cables on the left aren't connected, they aren't vm cables by the look of it, the brown one looks like its been there a while?

The new install looks like it's the taped cables on the bottom and the verticals one on the right.

Vm wouldn't touch non vm cables, is there sky or an old aerial installed prior to this?

I did consider cutting it very late Christmas Eve so that when they wake up Christmas morning there would be no TV, internet or landline and no one to deal until after boxing day ;)
My dad talked me out of it and I can't believe I am choosing this moment to listen to his advice. :rotfl:

I wouldn't have complained if they asked me first and at least did a decent job of it
