    Ne'er a truer word spoken :kisses3:. This coming week is the week I benefit most from gained time, so my job over my morning coffee tomorrow is to put together a manageable plan of action to make a dent in the to-do list. It is also an opportunity to test out a system I'm thinking about implementing in the new school year to help me keep on top of things.

    any hints on places to go, things to do etc?

    I'm looking forward to the food. I love gelatto and Tiramisu is one of my top 3 favourite puds (crumble and pavlova would probably get the other spots if you were wondering :D)

    On the topic of food, in an effort to make better food choices this week, I have

    *made a salad box for lunch for myself and OH for next 2 days
    * made a batch of fruit salad that will last 1-2 days (depending on OH :p;))
    * SC'd a chuck whilst at work and stripped it. We'll have the leg meat in a stir fry tomorrow, and then chicken and salad for tea one night later in the week. The stock will go into a soup mix which is in the freezer (butternut squash IIRC).

    We went to the island of Capri in a day trip which was good :) and we got a bus tour along the amalfi coast (just the cheapo one, nothing expensive!) which has got some stunning views along the way. We went to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvious (sp?) if that interests you?

    I wish we were going! And crumble is my all time favourite pud :D

    FD have sent a text to say that they are in the process of opening our current account, from which I infer our ID docs must have passed muster.

    L&C have recommended a life assurance policy via Legal and General, so we have the health interview phone calls booked in for tomorrow. If we go ahead, there would be virtually no change in premiums, but it would reflect the longer term of the mortgage and offer a slightly better level of coverage than our current policy with Scottish Widows.

    Other than that, all quiet on the western front.

    I have had a stack of paper work come through in last few days. New current account with FD, life assurance stuff, legal paperwork for the remortgage. Time to reclaim my desk!

    I have checked what fees would be payable to close our account with Accord. These came in at £90. I checked our balance whilst on the phone, and we have dipped into the £106k bracket for the first time. Within a year we'll be out of the hundreds.

    I'm going to make a cup of tea and then get down to business.

    I honestly hope you don't feel middle aged at 30, you are going to be very surprised when you reach 60 and discover that you've got 20-30 years left ahead of you! :rotfl:

    Well done with the mortgage. We are in a very similar position (just over £103k) and freedom seems like something that won't be so very far away. That said, this will not be our last home.

    productive afternoon. I have

    *set up telephone security and online banking with FD. The princely sum of £1 has been transferred to 'christen' our new current account. Switch set up for start of July.

    * life assurance paperwork completed
    * mortgage paperwork completed
    * gas & electrickery data submitted. We have a nice credit balance building for those winter months
    * paid council tax
    * renewed car tax
    * paid travel insurance for Sorrento trip (via Confused via Quidco).
    * cleared my email inbox
    * discovered that I have more swagbucks than I realised. I cannot be bothered to invist any significant time in it, but a few cursory daily clicks over the coming weeks will help me get the points I need to cash out a £20 voucher.
