    Huge congratulations, Mumto5.

We drove to the farm where we get our turkey every year near Totnes and I have to say the weather was absolutely vile. OH was determined to trot up Totnes High Street - until after we'd done the rest of the shopping and realised it really wouldn't be fun in the weather. Managed to stop at an untried farmshop and offload all of the egg boxes and get a sack of potatoes on the way home. The weather was even worse on the drive back. If it's heading your way, batten down the hatches.

This is the first Christmas for the 20 years since we met that we haven't had anyone else to consider - family, or people staying in the house. It feels like a real holiday. However, we've been working on a joint present to the couple that we spend Christmas day with for several weeks and I have to finish it today, which is a bit technical. Rather worried I might not be able to pull it off, so that'll be me for the rest of the day and most of tomorrow.
    Better is good enough.

Fantastic news - for you and him x :j

    Morning all
I thought I'd pop in and see you all seeing as it's Christmas.

Hello! Good to see you posting x

I was at the PO at 7:35 and got handed my parcel at 7:57 - goodness knows how long the queue would have been later in the day! Paid 2 cheques into the bank, had a brekkie in Mr T and was at my Dad's before 9:00!

Have acquired a lovely cold but, hopefully, will be rid of it in time for the big day!

Stay safe in the stormy weather everyone x

Back home after trip to next town for physio assessment - apparently the accident affected my right collar bone joint, which accounts for my being unable to scratch my left shoulder with my right hand, and the bursitis is also still a problem. I have been manipulated, have to do one exercise x10, 3 times a day, and have had an injection to calm the bursitis, with a further assessment to come in mid-January. TBH I was expecting to be told to go away and live with the improvement I've got, so was very pleasantly surprised that the physiotherapist thought that further treatment would help :)

The health centre is in the town centre, so once we had parked up in the multi-storey, it made sense to do the last bits of shopping in Mr A's. Not normally my supermarket of choice, but we got what we needed.

Having seen the weather here (and it's nowhere near as bad as in your part of the world, HB) DH has decided to give Worcester Cathedral carol service a miss this evening and stay in and keep warm and dry, so I shall have no excuse for not getting the study bedroom tidy and putting things away in the loft. I have generated so much paper rubbish that it won't all fit in the stupidly small recycling bag and DH will have to do a tip run tomorrow, even though it's bin day.

I might even get some decorations up tomorrow :D

:coffee: decluttered whilst I was typing, so back to work!

Washing up is all cleared, kitchen s&s'd and the loo and wash basin scrubbed to within an inch of their lives.

Just in time for me to feed Lizzie, and get started on the mushroom risotto for our dins; I did ask Mr LW to dice the onion and leave it ready for me, but it looks like he forgot, so some no-slicey-fingers vibes would be appreciated.:o

  • Washing done and kitchen and dining room cleared up after tea. Kids bathed already as youngest had yummy gateau in his hair lol just toys to tidy and downstairs to mop while he in bed. Cat flap won't stay shut cos of wind but worried if I lock it one of them will mess in house rather than use cat tray
