Food shop done, manic in there and pray tell me why is it a family event with Mum, Dad, kids etc, nothing exciting is happening, this is not a family outing. Couldn't get quite the turkey I wanted so have ended up with a smallish whole bird and a crown. Dept stores were quiet.

Shopping away now and cuppa and cake consumed so going to get the washing onto the airers and start the hoovering.

Thank you Dusty for last week's thread and Natty for this week.

It's a long one the next couple of days..so be warned. :D

    Monday Mayhem
    • Make sure you have all the shopping you need to take you through to next week.. milk and bread especially! It is Bank Holiday on Thursday so some shops are not open.. the big supermarkets are. Got most of it, but still got some bits and pieces to get - probably this pm as it's pouring down with rain ATM!
    • Make sure the last of the presents are nearly wrapped. I will not have people sitting up into the early hours on Christmas morning wrapping! Had to send presents via post and this was done on Friday.
    • Have we located stockings? N/A - I wear socks or tights (lol)
    • S&S the kitchen To be done
    • S&S the bathroom/s and loo's To be done
    • Make sure your timetable for christmas day is sorted and everyone knows their tasks.. who is spud peeling? Who is stuffing the bird etc..? Am out from early morning to about 2.30/3.00 pm so n/a - afternoon and evening tbc
    • Phone someone you 'forgot' to post a card/present to in time.. just so they know you've not forgotten them... Don't think I did "forget" anyone ..... but in case I don't get back on here before Wednesday - hope you all have happy crimbles!
    • Change pet bedding and wash blankies etc.. we don't want them putting you off your christmas sprouts! n/a
    • Dust round the whole downstairs To be done
    • Have a crazy HHC decluttering downstairs To be done
    • Children... quick.. tidy your rooms you don't want Santa thinking you don't look after your stuff.. he might not leave any presents! No children, but my own room could do with a tidy up
    • Vacuum through downstairs.. and the stairs! No stairs, but Henry will do his rounds later on
    • Mop the kitchen floor! To be done
    • Get rid of the washing up.. delegation is good! No one to delegate to!
    • Get out any special christmas crockery and make sure it is all clean and nice to use.. placemats etc too! Haven't got any special christmas crocks, but do have some particular favourites and am planning on using this for a special meal to be had on either Boxing Day, 29th Dec or New Year's Day - tbc!
    • Declutter your desk.. or anywhere else that has all your paperwork on. To be done
    • Hopefully you have had a skim through the TV guide and decided what you want to watch.. it saves missing bits of stuff if you know what is on and when!! If not then make 5 minutes to do it today. Don't forget to make time for Queenie! Have skimmed and it looks like there's quite a bit of recording to be done, so will sort this later
    • Toy boxes can be banished upstairs! - N/a
    • Tidy up coats and shoes and suchlike - To be done
    • WRAP WRAP WRAP! - N/a - 'tis all done and sent!
    • Spend at least half an hour doing something for yourself.. reading.. relaxing.. goggling... remember you are important too. - will see how the day goes - am keen to get things done before Wednesday so watch this space!
ETA: Change of plan - am dot-to-dotting in each room. Think it might work better ......

    Upstairs is done
    still got lots to do.

Been to dentist - I'm filled and numb! So MY grin for Mumto5's news is somewhat lopsided. I'm SO pleased for you; I know there's been a lot of stress and hassle in that area of your life.

I've been to Mr A, got the last gift I needed from there rather than go to A!di. Both shops were heaving as expected but I have a toaster, a new belt (I bought one on line and its too big so I had to go and buy the next size down. :j), DD has her shoes, and a new cutlery set as my current set have started to break. :(

    Morning all

    Great news mumto5!

I thought I'd pop in and see you all seeing as it's Christmas.

I've still got lots to do but everyone comes to mine for Christmas eve tea so I need everything done for then including the cooking.

I'll join in the ironing challenge Dusty as I'm not doing too badly with it at the moment.

Right I'm going to do some wrapping now and then hopefully that will be all finished.

    Hope everyone's keeping well.

    Have a good day all

    Hugs

  • Dusty - about the ironing challenge - on NYE if we have washing in our laundry baskets to do but an empty ironing basket - is that OK?

Have just put another full load of washing on - but hope to iron it before the day's end. Think it will be like this for the next week too!!!! Just like any other week. The bonus is we don't have lots of clothes so just can't allow it to pile up. Method in my madness there!!!

i cant wash laundry on NYE or NYD:eek: its an old superstition my mum and gran alwas used to say you will be washing someone out or in depending on which day you do it, so i aviod using the wm on both those days id feel personally responsible if anyone passed and by the same token if someone got a pregnancy they werent over excited about i'd think i bought it on them:o told you im a worry wart.

ive got about an hours worth in the ironing basket which will by cleared this afternoon. have tidied downstairs just need to sweep through mop hall and kitchen and then tackle the kitchen and bathroom.
ive made 9 little sledges for the table they just need name tags putting on them as place settings

rain and wind are really picking up here
