of course your daughter doesn't need to get upset over the card , life's too short , there will be far more important things she'll need to worry about , however there is a way for your daughter to get even- get her to colour the pepa pig in badly and send it back to her dad , and say ," now i'm 14 (underline that about 100 times just to make a point ) i've managed to colour it in and have hardly gone over the lines , "0

OP if you are that ill why are your "babies" not cooking the dinner or looking after you?0

When I read the title I thought it might involve a 3 year old, not a 14 year old! Seriously OP I think your DD would be ten time more embarrassed by your cringeworthy chat rather than the Xmas card!0

maybe "silly daddy" has no idea who peppa pig is and just thought it was a cute card, and its the thought that counts
Perhaps he mixed it up with Hello Kitty - goth teenagers love that, and Miffi. I also remember a phase where the goths from the university had furry 'pilchard' backpacks (from bob the builder, it's a blue cat).
When I was a goth teen though, it was a serious business, no room for fun or laughing at yourself :rotfl:
I think my eldest was 14 when we went to Peppa Pig World (with his 5 year old sibling). He worked out how to play the theme tune on the big wooden xylophone (?) and had an admiring audience. Perhaps OP's daughter isn't the type to think it's cool to regress back to 'childhood' though. Most of the teenage girls I know are mad about fluffy animals, Pokemon, characters from Studio Ghibli films, etc. but a few of them aren't, and don't see the point in being 'silly'.
I suppose if I had a difficult relationship with my father at the age of 14 (I did have, he walked out on us!) I'd be hurt that he didn't know me well enough to choose a card I'd like. I remember thinking it was the end of the world when he was a roadie on tour and had stayed in the same hotel and been drinking with my favourite goth band, and didn't even think to get me their autograph. Seeing as I was wearing the band's t-shirts every time he saw me I was hurt that he didn't remember that I liked them.
Does the dad have a girlfriend with children? Perhaps the 14 year old feels that the card was chosen by the girlfriend, or because it's what the girlfriend's own children are into.52% tight0 -
Well teenagers seem to be into winnie the poo, tinkerbell, disney characters etc, so perhaps he was mixed up about it ?
Don't see the big deal myself..0
