I always wanted a Dymo Label Maker (the type that embossed a bit of tape). Random, I know, but one year when I was about 8 there was a huge craze for them at school, all the girls had one and they labelled everything they owned. I asked Santa for one every year till I was about 15, but Santa didn't seem to think it was an appropriate present.
This year Santa finally brought one. I'm 33 now and was over the moon. I plan to label all my jars of stuff in the kitchen.0 -
I always wanted a Scaletrix, never got one, it was a 'boys toy' !
I did get the Girls World head though which later doubled up as secret hideaway box for my ciggies !
Oh and pair of Kung-Fu Pyjamas in cream and brown made of nylon (dead easy to slide out of bed)
and last, but not least, an orange Gemini 22 bike, left at the bottom of the stairs on Xmas morning, which my mom promptly fell over skinning her shins off the pedal in the process.
Ahh, them were the days ......

This made me laugh! I had a Girls World which I loved. I did think of buying one for my granddaughter this year but her mum said she would rather have a pirate ship instead, tomboy that she is. That's all very well, but I don't want to play with a pirate ship!
I did have loads of Barbie and Sindy stuff, I can remember my childhood being dominated by dolls, did anyone else collect Pippa and her stuff?
I did yearn for a Playdoh Barbers shop. My little sister got one but I was not allowed to play with hers or else she would have a big tantrum. My mum got me one for my birthday! (I was 16!!)
I loved my toys and dolls, I think that kids today really miss out. All they seem to want is electronic stuff, all of which does the same thing. Our idea of hi-tech was a Tippy Tumble doll which would do flips on the carpet (eventually!)"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
Evil Knievel....And mouse trap but i always wanted to how things worked and broke them...I fixed radios as a kid...It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0
