Child of the 50's here, I always wanted a Bride Doll and a jewellery box with a dancing ballerina that popped up when the lid was opened. For some reason my mom was obsessed with buying me toys that were too old for me, saying "you're not a little girl anymore" Yes I was!!
    Slightly bitter
  • I had the My Little Pony Dream Castle too, and yes it was Spike The Dragon. MLPs are very collectable now and I think spike in good condition is quite hard to find.

i had a ballerina jewellery box, I was thrilled for my daughter when she got one for a christmas present when she was little too.
  • Someone must have been listening this year, because I got a Chocolate dispenser and a set of toffee bars with a little silver hammer. My husband also got me an experience gift, feeding Tigers by hand , which is fabulous, but the fact that he has FINALLY listened to me means lots more :D

I wanted some of those shoes (Clarks made them I think) that had animal tracks for pattrens on the soles, and a compass hidden in the heel...think they might have been called "Trackers" or something.....but of course, they were only in boys shoes not for girls:(

No wonder I grew up with a sort of shoe fetish!!

Tuf Wayfinders, I think! I wanted them but despite my user name I am female!

Mousetrap was over our present limit so I never got it but I bought it for my kids in the 90's and our mum's were right it is plastic tat but it looked so exciting. I got a chocolate machine off an auntie one year but couldn't find the chocs to replace so short term fun with that one. And my sister and I wanted a girls world but never got one, we did get a baby sister who we tried out hair and make up on when she was a toddler.

My brother got the Action Man, I got the Action Man horse ;) The Lego was shared. He had Scalextric and I had the Hornby train set. I got a TV as when my father was away on business trips my mother and I would use the spare bed in my room as a sofa and watch scary movies.

The one present I really wanted more than anything and never got was a pony. My parents could afford it but felt I was horsey enough already and my mother doesn't like horses. My parents never once showed up to watch me compete on other peoples' ponies/horses either.
