  • Mine was Mr Frosty like the majority. I had the roller boots and a ballerina Sindy but not the Cadbury chocolate dispenser which I bought my own DD this Christmas. Supposed to take 10p now but if she uses a bit of intuition and poke something in the slot it dispenses the chocolate free of charge.

Anybody remember this game? I had it and loved it; looks rubbish now though! http://youtu.be/e9qUO1KkjEI
  • I wanted a Casdon cooker but was sure it actually cooked food. I did get a cooker that lit up but I put a candle in the oven and burnt a hole in it!

That was the most tense minute of my life, watching this. WHEN WILL IT STRIKE???? Oh the suspense! I have white hair now. :p
  • Awe I can't really remember as I Have problems with my memory but nothing sticks out in my mind. I remember I did get one of those dairy milk dispensers though, but you could just undo the back and re use the same 2p! I remember my Nan sending me a little parcel to school with a letter and a couple of boxes of refills in it!

It makes me sad when kids are gender-ised. My 6 year old is very much a girly girl and I find it really boring at times as I am quite a tom boy myself. my 4 year old is obsessed with Spider-Man, bugs and super heroes which is ace! Her favourite presents this year were a pirate captain costume and some boys super kid pjs with a Velcro Cape from B&M she also got a Spider-Man scooter and I could of cried seeing her face! Funny little sausage! Wish she wasn't so blooming naughty though :)

For me it was a 'popples' and a post office set, i really wanted to stamp!
  • I always wanted Girls World - the decapitated plastic head which allowed you to grow and colour in her hair.

I had that! Never wanted it though...

Mine would have been anything Sylvanian families related - always wanted that but it was too expensive
  • What a great thread! I've read it from page one and have loved it.

My 'never got for Christmas' gift, was a Barbie. I SO wanted one and asked Father Christmas for one every year, until one year I made a new best friend and went to her house. They were a 'posh' family and had a very posh house which I was in awe of, and when I went up to her bedroom to play, she not only had a Barbie, but also the house, the pony and the car, and a ton of Barbie clothes too!

That was it! I was furious with Father Christmas! I remember I wrote a very stiff letter to him telling him that I was very upset that I hadn't been given the Barbie I so wanted, when other girls got what they wanted every single year.

That year I got a 'type' of Barbie doll and a lot of clothes for her. All the clothes were wrapped up individually - which at the time I didn't understand. Now, however, I realise that my parents just didn't have the money to buy me the Barbie with all the things I was hoping for. So I got one of those 99p pretend Barbie dolls and a selection of clothes, all individually wrapped so that it looked like I had a lot of presents.

I did eventually get my Barbie doll. On my wedding day. She was dressed in a wedding dress ... and when it came the time for people to give the bride (me) those horse shoes and rolling pins etc etc ... my Dad came to me with his hands behind his back and quietly said ... "Do you remember when you were little, you never got a Barbie for Christmas? ... well chicken, you've finally got her" ... and from behind his back he produced this wondrous doll, with a ribbon tied to her so that I could 'hang her' with all the horseshoes etc. My eyes were as wide as saucers, and I burst into tears.

At the wedding reception, when the meal was over and everyone was busy doing their own thing, I quietly picked her up and just for a few private moments I sat, and became the 5/6/7/8 year old little girl I once was, and played with her. I'd finally got my Barbie.

I still have her - over thirty years later. She's stored with my wedding dress.

OMG how beautiful, that just made me cry............ :o

A few days before Christmas I was reading through this topic and talking to my boyfriend about it. I told him I asked for a Mr Frosty ever year but was never allowed one because my clean-freak Mum thought it was too messy.

He handed me a box after I had finished opening the rest of my presents on Christmas Day. I screamed when I opened it and there was my very own Mr Frosty!

So thanks to the OP, if it wasn't for this topic I would still be waiting.
