I always wanted a Mr Frosty machine, I asked for one every single year and one never appeared.

Well I've just been to Tesco on my way home and seen the lovely sight of a woman making her toddler cry with the words "You can't have that, that's for girls and you're a boy."

    So depressing.

Oh I also wanted a fashion wheel and a Big Yellow Teapot and never got either :( I remember wanting some walking talking doll and I got one but it was a cheap foreign replica that talked in some garbled foreign language- I quickly lost interest in it. I think I was a bit ungrateful when I was a kid because I didn't realise how hard my mum worked to pay for what we got and I was only interested in comparing myself to the spoilt brat in my class who got everything she possibly wanted (and who went to a private school) so no matter what I got I always wanted something better..

  • Another one here who wanted the Cadbury's chocolate machine!

And also something called an "Adventure Set" which I used to yearn for every year in whatever catalogue my mum had, it was a boxed set which consisted of a camera, flask, compass, etc. I was a Famous Five fan and it sounded just the thing I needed to go on adventures. Was disappointed I never got it!

  • I always wanted a Pippa doll. I especially loved the long hair and sparkly green dress on princess Pippa. I was always cutting my dolls hair, though, so that might be why I didn't get one!
I also would have liked a Katie Kopycat doll and the big Sindy doll house

I had the Mr Frosty thing and it was really hard work. Also the dairy milk thing which was great until the chocolate ran out until we discovered you could take the 2ps out and put them back in again and get more chocolate, so there wasn't much money in it. My parents also promised to buy refills but never got around to it. Same with the Mr Frosty syrups and the soda stream gas canisters.

I really wanted a rainbow brite doll but never got one. I really wanted a bike too but my mum was overcautious and was scared I'd fall off and die so I never got one til I was about 12 and got a hand down bike from a relative (they didn't ask my mum and she didn't have the heart to take it from me). It was about 20 years old, covered in rust, and meant for a child smaller than me, and my friends on their shiny new mountain bikes called it Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, but I loved it so much I rode it everywhere.

    Mr Frosty!

(I suspect a lot of early 90's kids are in the same boat, as a parent now I know it's plastic tat, but I so badly would have loved that on Christmas morning)

I asked for a Mr Frosty every year but never got it :(

    I did,however,get one a couple of years ago :D

I always wanted a Chopper bike in the Seventies but I wasn't allowed because I'm a girl. I also wanted an Action Man but got Sindy and Pippa instead.
