E-on - You are a bunch of Liars and I'm reporting you to Ofgem
Options
(To anyone considering switching to these people DON'T or at least do your research first because they will tell any old lie, trust me)
Yes I've seen your petty excuses on here and your PR lies which is as see through as your excuses that price rises are beyond your control whilst you fat cats just get fatter and fatter. You people make me sick with anger. I would ask how you sleep at night but we all know it's on fat beds full of everybody else's money.
First of all I too am on the heatwise tariff. How you can you get away with announcing your rises as being 3.7% when they are anything but? I've been through the new tariff details and my increase works out as follows.
Standing charge - 27.395 per unit increasing to 30.135 = a whole 10% increase!
Unit Rate - 16.662 per unit increasing to 17.021 = 4%
Night Rate - 6.972 per unit increasing to 7.172 = 2.87% (I see what you did there what with it being the night rate and the lowest used unit as most people are in bed that time.
Now here comes the killer......
Heatwise Unit Rate - 7.382 per unit increasing to 8.694 = 17.77% !!
To top it off the actual increases are even higher because my current rates are actually lower than the ones in your letter! You lot just haven't got a clue!
Plus you have taken away the mains gas discount AND the prompt pay discount! Did that help you come to your "average" figure by any chance? What a bunch of jokers.
You claim the 3.7% figure in your statement is an "average" so please go ahead and tell us who is benefiting from the such modest increases that make your so called average price rises add up to 3.7% when some of us are paying 17.77% more in some cases?
As usual you will just try to blind and lie to everyone on the market. You saw what was happening when your competitors announced their annual winter feast on the misery of others price rises, laid low while everyone got upset, then decided to try and look good by announcing imaginary figures that just don't add up but sound good so you hope to steal more customers so you can rip them off instead! You are despicable, horrible, evil, scheming and greedy people.
Also why are you keeping so quiet on the green levies which you have yet to pass on? Are you busy away in the board room scheming a way of not having to pass these on? It's the same old thing. Pass on the rises straight away, hold back when it gets cheaper.
And to add to this you are also telling me I have to pay to have an out of date meter to be replaced while under law (unless I have got this part wrong) YOU have to replace these periodically under H&S regulations. You even wrote to me telling me as such. Now you are telling me I have to pay for that as well. You guys are just the gift that keeps giving aren't you?

I am sure Ofgem will read your peculiar interpretation of what 'average' should mean without all due consideration. It is they, not the supplier, who define what 'average' is and how it is calculated. You are reporting Ofgem to Ofgem, not your supplier.0

If that's the case it makes it even more sickening. Just the way the providers like it no doubt.0

Please post ofgems reply when (or if) you get one. I enjoy a good laugh0

(BTW, OP, have you plugged your own usage into the figures to work out what your actual increase is? Superficially looking at the figures I would say a typical Heatwise user is facing an increase of less than 6%.)0

Will do but i think that's optimistic. The standing charge alone has gone up 10% and I use about 40% heatwise energy and that is going 17.7%. The discounts have also been removed. So that leaves the 60% normal usage to work out. At an estimate I would say I'm looking at around 10% based on that. They have changed the whole tariff so dramatically to confuse people I'm sure as well as targeting the highest price rises to people on the economy tariffs.
I will go through me recent bills and do a more thorough check and also look if it will cheaper to change supplier and move to a basic tariff. I will see.0 -
One more thing Mr E-on. Instead of offering us £15 a year in Tesco clubcard points why not just take £15 of the yearly bill? I mean really what is all that about? What a laugh!!0

You're not very "with it" are you and I don't think you're being fair to Eon either.
Eon won't be able to offer clubcard points soon as OFGEM have told them they can't, so they are adjusting unit prices downwards for those customers to compensate. My prices are actually going DOWN under Eon shortly, which skews your "average".
That said - I'd rather have kept the clubcard points as they are worth more money to me, so thanks again OFGEM for nothing - you've done nothing but screw me over of late. Standing charges, no rewards. Useless bunch of clowns.
It's OFGEM that are the problem here, for us as consumers and Eon as our supplier.0 -
