Agree your pie looks scrummy!

Have you sourced a hair dryer yet?0 -
 That pie looks amazing! My wife cooked one the other night, but not on that scale, I must have words!
Go big or go home is what I say when it comes to cottage pies/lasagnes and that sort of thing! It takes a while to peel all the spuds though...:rotfl:Agree your pie looks scrummy!

Had LO cottage pie for dinner last night as well, bless him OH reheated it, and despite knowing I was on a diet grated cheddar cheese all over the damn thing!!! So the 850+ calories left in my diet from yesterday I just wiped out on dinner! I also managed to resist the chocolates, but did crumble a little bit and had a bag of mini cheddars instead. Though they were 131 calories in a bag, so I saved myself 9 calories picking them over the chocolates!!!
SIL is going to lend me a spare she has, until I can a new one. Result!

16 days until payday....

I'm also down to checking daily for my CC statement to come through, all my DD's, bills and debts go out on the 1st of the month except for the CC  I want it to come through so I can pay the regular payment off it and can update my debt totals!
EDIT: Result, just checked it as I was typing and it's showing up now as £25 minimum to be received by the 26th. Yay :j now I can chuck another £40 at it, need to see how much interest there is this month though, so I can subtract that... I really need to sort out a new 0% card!!! Hmm £5.38 interest. That sucks
still it will probably motivate me. Will make this payment then I will research best card for me and apply for one.
I think I'm gonna pay £45.38 actually, so the £40 still comes off the debt, and will take the interest payment from my misc spends budget.
Food Diary
Breakfast: cocopops again! 175 calories (inc milk)
Lunch: Other half of the part baked baguette, again with egg mayo and salad leaves 250 calories
Dinner: TBC! I really need to start being more organised with evening meals...decided! chicken and chorizo jambalaya
Snacks: vanilla flavour muller light yoghurt 99 cals, in reserve: lindor chocs x 2 140 cals, or mini cheddars 131 cals!0 -
So...I've been having a little think (dangerous I know!), and now I'm wondering whether now is the right time to apply for a new credit card. We started the ball rolling in December to remortgage, but with Christmas getting in the way, it still hasn't been completed yet. I'm nervous about applying for a CC so soon after a mortgage application as I need to keep my credit rating as healthy as possible, as OH's isn't all that great.:o
Just wondering whether to hold off a couple of months, and apply then, as for the sake of a tenners interest I think I would choose the peace of mind knowing I'm keeping my credit rating intact? Hmm...does anyone have more experience in this area than me and can advise me?!
I also read my meters yesterday and submitted the results to E.ON, and I'm a tad confused, as I think we might have gone from being in arrears to being in credit :huh: we are due a bill at some point in February, so I will hold off from jumping for joy until then, but it might mean I have one less debt than I thought I did! Which would obviously be awesome....0 -
At the risk of spamming my own diary... I just logged back into E.ON and reviewed my DD, and happy days they want to reduce it from £131 a month to £125 a month to have the account balance at zero for the annual review in May.
So I guess I must still owe a bit, but yay the DD has been reduced by £6 a month. This will kick in from the next payment in February. And if I carry on as it the account will be at zero come May, brilliant! So still confused, but happily confused for now! :rotfl:0 -
Hiya EB, just caught up on all ya post. You always on the go. Lots to do. My life very quiet and sedate lol.
I cant comment on your financial decisions, Im not money savvy at all and know nothing about, best deals and balance transfers etc but hope all goes well and fab on the £6 reduction.
2 days for me for pay day :j. Cant wait so I can get down to some serious debt busting
4 - 6 month loans
500 payday loan canceled continuous payment, have to wait for it to default to set up a repayment plan
£600 to brother0 -
Hi DF2014,
Yeah I've been babbling a little bit last couple of days, just ignore my wittering!
I'm just trying to make the most of this burst of enthusiasm. Also I'm so jealous you only have 2 days to go until payday!!
I'm not going to stress too much about transferring the CC balance for now. I've pretty much decided to rethink about it in 3 months or so.
Here's a picture of this evening's Jambalaya. Was yummy and came in around 600 cals, so as I had a few calories going spare I indulged in 2 x choc truffle balls. Delish!

Salivating again here lol
Not sure about the CC application, wish I could help.
It's a good feeling about 'beating' the energy companies. Last meter reading we sent, had us bracing ourselves for what the new DD price would be. So far, not a peep!£2 Savers Club 2014 #74 - £4840 -

Which energy company are you with? We're with E.ON and when you log into your account online, there is an option to click on Direct Debit and they review it online if you have submitted meter readings recently. That's what I did today and got the pleasant surprise!
Just logged into my Quidco account, which I hardly ever use. They have lots of cashback and discount deals for holidays, so perhaps you could look on there to help save some money on your holiday Foxglove?
Also saw whilst on there that my cashback for the cat insurance has finally tracked so I have £55.70 in my account!! Yay, really pleased as that's next years insurance pretty much covered. It was £60 for this year. Will sort out transferring that out tomorrow, and will stick the money in the pet account.
Must try to remember to use Quidco when any other insurances come up for renewal!
Right it's my bedtime now, sweet dreams everyone xx0 -

We are with Scottish Power and have one of those awkward Economy 7 meters (day and night readings) so have had trouble finding tarriffs and energy suppliers who will supply. We've moved around and I did a check a while back and Scottish Power were the cheapest so we will sit tight until the capped offer ends.
Not used Quidco in so long, I always start these things and then it wanes over time but I will definitely look and see if there are any deals on there, thanks for the tip!£2 Savers Club 2014 #74 - £4840
