Also my hairdryer died last night. I was merrily drying my hair when the power kept dropping and it kept cutting out. In fear of electrocution I have unplugged it and daren't use it! Will see if any friends or family have a spare/old one kicking around I can borrow until I have the money to buy a new one. It's my birthday end of Feb, so if they could lend me one until then I can get OH to buy me one for my birthday!

Mine have usually died at 6am when I'm drying my hair before work! The power cuts out cos the element inside is too hot. After five mins they normally cool enough to be used again. I've been known to blow in the back of it to speed up this process - probably not gonna solve the problem though!

Some supermarkets do cheap ones for around £6 they may not be reliable, maybe try Boots or places like that as their Christmas stock often goes to half price - drop a hint to OH!

Also good work using up cupboard stuff to watch cals! Have you ever used MyFitnessPal, found it very useful to track and shame myself into not eating certain things (Doritos lol)

    Keep up the good work!

I have to wash my hair the night before, as it is so thick and long at the mo' (it depserately needs cutting). It takes an absolute age to dry, and straighten, and I just don't have the time in the morning, well not unless I got up in the middle of the night! It was such a mess this morning, seriously, like a birds nest!:rotfl:
I've messaged a few peeps this morning to see if anyone has a spare, if not I will scout out some places. An uber cheap one will do me for now, I'm desperate!

I do have MyFitnessPal. I logged into it this morning for, according to the App, the first time in 5 months, oopsy... :o I find it really useful for counting calories and keeping track of my portions. Am aiming for 1500 ish cals a day for now to try and boost the weightloss. 836 left apparently to get me through dinner, more if I manage to resist the bloody chocolates! :p

I saw you had partaketh of a cheeky glass of vino over on PMO2's diary! :rotfl:
I find it really useful to calorie count, though sometimes I will take a guess if I can't work it out. Most things I can figure out though, especially with the help of my good friends Google and MyFitnessPal.
I consider myself extremely lucky that I don't like alcohol. I never miss it and don't feel like I'm depriving myself by not having it. Sometimes being odd is quite useful!!! One glass though is not that bad, and anyways, isn't wine supposed to be good for you???

And behold the mighty portion of it I had for dinner...ahem... in my defence my appetite had returned and I was celebrating the fact. I was also a good girl and didn't add cheese to the mash for once...butter, well....

My hair is the same, so time consuming and i always have it up so a waste of time drying, straightening etc!

MyFitnessPal must crash every January when we all slope back and log in for the first time in months. I need to get back into it in a big way. What are you having for dinner? I'm always on the look out for new ideas!

Oh lordy that cottage pie looks heavenly! I love proper winter comfort food like that, homemade is best!

I think I read somewhere they prepare the site for months before January, because we all come sloping back as you say! I also have to tie my hair up for work, so I do sometimes wonder why I bother, but my hair looks like a hedge if it isn't straightened, I have frizzy bits poking out all over the place, and I need to try and look at least a little bit professional lol :rotfl:

The cottage pie was delish, all made from scratch. I hate those ready meal versions you can buy at the SM, they have no flavour, just slop really. I might be having it again tonight as I'm going to the gym after work, so it will be quick to reheat, unless OH manages to rustle something up for when I get in. Fingers crossed, as he's a really good cook when he puts his mind to it!

Have you checked out the "what are you having for dinner thread?" on the OS board. I love that thread, so many great ideas I would never have thought of. Check it out!!

Ohhhh I have subscribed to the dinner thread, totally agree that readymeals are tasteless - despite them being packed with sugar so we will like the taste?!?!
