Ahhh Economy7, bummer :o still at least you shopped around, so you know you are on the best deal you can get! I was exactly the same with Quidco, it's all about remembering to use it when I need it!

Work is gonna be manic today, so probably won't get much time to log in and keep up with my subscribed threads. Boo :o Hence quick post now!

Have dug out my pedometer that OH has put a fresh battery in, so will count my steps today, see if I can make it to the magic 10k! Also got a book out of the library called Thrifty Living that I plan to read on the bus to work, see if I can find some tips

Be back later when I have more time, adios peeps! xx

Need to reset the time on my pedometer, as 2 hours ago it thought it was midnight and reset my count! I've added up "yesterday's" steps from the memory with what it's displaying on screen at the moment and I'm on 4403 steps, so need to step up my game to reach the magic 10k. It didn't help I was in a meeting for 2 hours this morning, putting me behind schedule.

Breakfast: coco pops (again!) with SS milk 175 cals

Lunch: Ham, salad and mustard half a baguette thingy again 248 cals and a muller light yoghurt 99 cals

    Dinner: TBC (oopsy!)

Snacks: Not doing well on this front...had 4 choccys from a tub of roses someone had kindly brought in as they were on a diet :rotfl:so deffo no mini cheddars later or any of my own choccys @ home

The beginnings of a thumping headache are brewing... :(

Right must dash, I've got a lot of walking to do!!!!

Well my NSD run came to an end yesterday when I was advised by the milk drinkers in the household that we were nearly out so quickly popped into Ald! on my way home from work. Spent £3.39 on milk, fabric conditioner, a tin of new pots, cucumber and celery.

I used the new pots for dinner and cut them up and fried them of in a pan with some onion and chorizo then put in the oven to crisp up whilst I prepared omelettes for dinner. What a fag that is as they all want to sit and eat at the same time so trying to keep them warm was a task and a half. Anyway's just added up the cost and if I include the tin of beans they had with last nights dinner cost a mahoosive 75p per portion!!! :j I had left over pasta as I don't like eggs much.

Anyway January spend to date is £61.57/£250 :rotfl:
Credit Card £[STRIKE]2332.04[/STRIKE] at 1st Jan 14 now £2089
    Joint debts currently £[STRIKE]25000[/STRIKE] £17388 Debt Free date dec [STRIKE]Jan 2025[/STRIKE] :(2022:)

    PAD since 20/08/15 £61.16

I think you were right lovely, had a nice big glass of water and it went after a little while! Also managed my 10k of steps wohoo :j, which is good as I have overeaten by far too much today, oopsy! :o Will do better tomorrow!

Feel bad today as well as I turned down the opportunity for a bit of OT this weekend, but I'm still a bit under the weather and my work friend got cross when I said I was thinking about it! :rotfl:Bless her for looking out for me! Probably for the best.

Have asked for my Quidco payout today, still haven't finished my tax rebate letter. I am such a procrastinator! Will sort that out tomorrow.

Thanks for your GC update LESLAMP, but did you mean to post it here or on the GC thread?? :D I'm very impressed with how well you are doing though, I am going to fail this month's challenge spectacularly!

No food piccy today as it wasn't interesting enough to show! Just oven chips, battered fish (cooked in oven) and baked beans. Lazy dinner tonight!
  • I will wave the cheque HMRC send to me and that will help motivate you! Maybe they'll send the local newspaper round and present it to me with a huge cardboard cheque like charities use?

Good work with your 10k steps, I am impressed!

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks for the motivation Foxglove, I will get it finished over the weekend! I just need to sit down with my payslip and it will take 2 minutes!!

Going for 10k steps today, on busy days at work to be honest it's really easy, and when I used to do it on really busy days I would get up to around 15k steps  Might also go the gym tonight, depending on how work goes.

14 days to payday... :pI might start thinking out next months budget at the weekend.

My MSE thing for today (well started it the other day really) is to try and shave a bit of money off my electricity bill. I started by turning off my laptop completely, but now also switch the plug off when i go to work and go to bed. Turning off the toaster and kettle at the plug to stop them using leccy at rest, though turn the kettle back on in the morning. Have also started turning off the plug in air fresheners (one in hall and on landing) overnight. This also gives me peace of mind as read they can be a fire hazard  I am also now unplugging my phone charge after I have finished using. I know they are little things, but I'm hoping they will add up to a small reduction over the year. It would help if OH would turn the bloody TV off at night instead of putting it on standby, but last time I broached the subject I got the caveman grunt, and was informed there was no point as it only saved pennies  its a 42" plasma, they are not particularly energy efficient!!!!

Right time to dash to work, will try and pop in later on lunch break!
  • Hi eyebright you should get a electric monitor thing i have one and its amazing seeing how much different things cost to use like for example my kettle the dial goes upto 40 and when someones in shower it goes up to over 145 kilowatts per hour we got ours free from british gas but we have saved alot of electric now we can see daily how much its costing us it used to be about 6 aday and now about 4 aday
