I have no idea how accurate it is DF2014!! OH set it up for me when I got it and it's a decent enough pedometer. I am only 5 ft 1, so I don't know if I have a smaller stride than you? My legs are really short!!!

Thank you for the encouragement Foxglove! I really need it atm. Life is sooooo busy at the minute, that I'm not getting the time I would like to spend time on the forums. I find them so motivating, and help to keep me focused on my goals. If I don't come on here money magically vanishes!

Yesterday was manic from the get go. Getting in late on Tues from the gym, meant I didn't make my pack up to take to work the night before, so had to do it yesterday morning, meaning I couldn't log on before work. Didn't even have time to check my internet banking!!
Then work was crazy, barely had time for lunch, so didn't get online then like I normally would. Then got home, and instead of going zumba, which costs £4 we went out for dinner as local pub had 2 for 1 on free meals. So I ate badly and didn't exercise :rotfl:BUT, OH paid, so I had a NSD yesterday! Got home and SIL and BIL came round for a brew, as they have a rat problem atm, and wanted to get out of the house. By the time they left I was knackered and went to bed.

So today is a new day. Hopefully I will have time to catch my breath, and catch up on diaries, and keep some semblance of control over what I'm shovelling into my mouth!!

    8 days to payday...

don't be too hard on yourself - things will get easier. I am sure its just time of year. Soon that yellow thing that appears in the sky will be back for longer and there will be more time to exercise x
  • Hi EB, loving the diary, am off to subscribe! 10,000 steps is usually about 5 miles so not sure why yours says different?
Am having a part lightbulb moment, but am so deep in the mire it is difficult to see the light!
Am following your diary and hopefully will begin to sort out my life:o

I'm enjoying the diaries too, from those on their own journey and those celebrating the freedom of being debt free, it certainly helps to see that if others can do it - so can I!

I often have manic days and it throws a spanner in the works with regards to keeping a hold on the finances and also trying to live a healthy lifestyle.

    Not easy but achievable!

    Hi MIC,

Welcome to my lil diary, the more the merrier! A part lbm is a good start, but now you need to turn the dimmer switch all the way up to full! :rotfl:You can do it, go on add up your debts and what you pay off them, start a diary and join in the fun!

Wow 10k steps is really 5 miles?! Wowzers! Right be back when I get into work, will try to finish catching up on everyone's diaries and will post something constructive to my diary. I wish I could stop being so knackered atm, then I could post in the evenings, bah!

  • EB, gonna take your lead and hunt out the pedometer. I have one of those heart rate monitors for exercise so may wear it to work today and give me a starting point. Isn't it amazing how much we are doing without realising it!

    Hi LesLamp, welcome aboard. :D

Glad I'm inspiring someone! I hate this last leg headings towards payday. I have about £50 to last me until Friday with a fiver in my purse. I really need to not spend much of that £50 if any of it, as the food shop this month is so overspent because of New Year, that I will need to put more into that account. I really wish I had had my LBM a bit earlier than the week before Christmas! Also I have spent too much on clothes this month, after boasting the other week that I hardly ever buy myself clothes...:rotfl:still it was all stuff I need, but it was too much at once!

I'm starting to think ahead to next months budget now. Payday is next Friday, so I need to have a think about what outgoings and plans I've got between the 25th of Jan and the 24th of Feb. We are now going up north the last weekend in Jan. Me to visit my family who couldn't travel down to see me in Dec, and OH to catch up with old friends and do some cycling trails with them in North Wales. I'm hoping to keep the spends for my part of the trip really low. I only want to put some money towards the petrol and say £30 tops for buying any food if we eat out or order a takeaway.

It's also MIL's 70th birthday and OH wants to have the family over for a roast dinner on one day to celebrate. I also think we are going out for dinner one evening as well. So need to account for these spends. I imagine that will clear me out and leave me with a bit left over for general day to day living, like paying for my zumba classes. The plan is to buy no clothes next month either!

I walked 12,657 steps yesterday and that didn't include when I went to the gym last night, so continuing to do well with my 10k steps challenge. I also have decided on a new target to help boost my fitness and weight goals. I'm going to run a 5k Race for Life in June. It raises money for Cancer Research which is a charity I like to support, for many reasons. I ran just over 1k on 10 mins on the treadmill last night and it nearly killed me :rotfl:, so lots of work to be done! Weighed myself this morning and I've gained a 1lb, oopsy!! So will have to try a lot harder this coming week. Trying to motivate myself to do a load of housework but my legs feel like lead weights this morning, so I'm going to catch up on everyone's diaries I have neglected this week whilst I have been so busy and knackered instead.

I love my pedometer, even though it is huge! But it is quite a decent one OH bought me as a birthday present couple of years ago. It has a memory so you can look back at a weeks worth of numbers, and it calculates how many calories you have burnt walking around. I sometimes check my heart rate on the cardio machines at the gym and it's never pretty! Usually my heart rate is in the 180's and the machine warns me that my heart rate is too high. So now I don't check :rotfl:Ignorance is bliss!

Right I am now officially going to b*gger off and do some housework. The house looks like a hurricane has blown through!
