    What LionessInWinter said! :D

Whew, what a busy day it's been, left the house at 7am, home at 6pm, back out at 10 past 6 to hit the gym, home at 8pm. Have finally showered and eaten, now just winding down before I hit the sack!

I was naughty again today and ate a bag of crisps and a couple (OK 4 ) pieces of brownie. I couldn't stop myself they were delicious!!! :rotfl:The gym may have helped but I that's a lot of calories to burn off!

Spent last night moving all my money around and into my various pots, so I have what's left to live on now! Really want to end this month with a decentish bit left over, as I didn't get to make an OP to the CC in Jan, though my goal was always to just struggle through and focus on staying in the black (which I did manage so yay). Since my LBM, I have upped the payments so things are moving in the right direction, just I would like to chivvy things along! I got plans man, that don't include being in debt!!!

Right I think I can hear my bed calling me. Good night! xx

OMG! Has it really been 3 months since I have been on here....:o
In that time I have to admit I have fallen off the MSE wagon a wee (OK, quite a lot) bit.

The debt on my CC has gone up, this is the main problem. In January my CC was ay £1096.63. It now stands at £1399.99....yeah I paid an extra penny to take it under £1400 :rotfl:.
However I have just applied and been accepted for a balance transfer to a new CC, with 18 months 0%. So approx £78 a month will have it cleared by the end of the deal, however I would prefer it if I could get it blitzed before then.

On the plus side I'm up to day with my E.ON account. That's at zero now, which means from next month my DD is going from £125  a month to £77. Seems much more reasonable to me, and will free up some cash to pay towards the CC.

Though I have to admit that I've been really struggling for money by the last week of the month. I think this is a combination of trying hard to pay off my debts/accrue some small saving pots to stop me from having to put things on the CC in the future. So I may reduce what I put into these pots until my debts are cleared. A spending diary is a must as I'm spending money far too freely at the moment. Take today for example...went shopping with my sister in law, came home with 7  nail varnishes. Really??? I work in a hospital so can only have my nails painted at the weekend if I'm not working. I also have a drawerful at home as it is! I have way too many beauty products in general, so no more until I've used up what I already have in. I kid you not I have easily got enough shower
gel to last me until next year....

Other plus points are that I'm slowly getting down what I owe "myself" (the joint account), and should have that cleared in the next 3 months, and continue to give FIL £100 a month, towards what we owe him for helping us with our deposit 2 years ago.

Got a few ideas to help get me started going in the right direction again and will be implementing these in the next few days. Just got to keep on plodding :)

Just noticed my poor signature bears no resemblence to my current situation, so I'm off to update that now. I find it helps to keep me focused...:j

Have found a little notebook whilst having a sort out last night. It will be ideal for a spending diary, so I've chucked it in my handbag.
I onlt have £1 in my purse and my aim is for it to still be there when I get home tonight. I also need to do my food shop tonight for the week, and I'm aiming for £40 for the 2 of us plus el kitty cat.

Have got family coming down to visit tomorrow, so need to try and do things with them as cheaply as possible. Going out for food/takeaways will be the biggest area of spending, so perhaps I can make my own...

Off to a good start, yesterday was a NSD. The £1 I have in my purse is still there!

I've also used TopCashBack to renew the moggy's Pet Insurance. It's £47 for the year, and I get £50.50 cashback, so I've just been paid to take out the insurance... :rotfl:SIL has also expressed an interest in TCB and Quidco, so going to send her a referral and will earn some more cash if she signs up!

Next to sort out is my phone contract, as that's up for renewal, so want to see if I can get some more cashback for this too (and a cheaper contract....)

Went to the gym last night, struggled quite a bit. Think I'm just tired and I didn't eat anything before I went, so the tank was empty. As family are down from today, probably won't get a chance to go again this week, but hopefully we will at least do some walking!

Need to get a few bits of shopping today, so will grab that on the way home. Will try to keep the cost down!

Have a lovely day all :)

Well my spending diary has finally been kicked into action with a very spendy day yesterday

90p sausage roll as finished work early and didn't take any lunch for myself
£43.80 at the vets getting kitty's annual booster
    £24.10 on pub dinner
£1.00 tip for waitress who was very nice

I did do a little food shop, but that's accounted for by my grocery budget, so I haven't put that in my spend diary.

I don't anticipate any NSD's now until Sunday, as folks are here and will want to do stuff :( Hoping to keep spends to a minimum, by going places that are free like the moors for a walk.

It's now tipping it down with rain, so looks like my walk to the bus station to go to work will be a soggy, miserable one!

Oh £55.70 has hit my account now which I withdrew from my Quidco account. Not quite sure what debt I'm going to chuck it at yet, will have a think whilst I'm at work. Oooh, also need to remember to post my cancellation letter for the old pet insurance!

Have a lovely day all :)

Didn't get chance to post at all over the weekend due to hosting my family. Lovely as it was to see them, it's nice to get back to the routine and spending less!

Today should be a NSD, and me and OH have agreed that we will try to use everything up in the freezer and cupboards this week, will probably need a couple of fresh bits, like fruit, milk, yoghurts and bread but that should be it.

My balance transfer has now completed and my old CC is standing empty, yay! So will write to them next to close the account. Right, must dash as work calls, will try to get back on later if not too busy! TTFN XX

    hi Eyebright

good to see you back and plodding along. I need to renew my gas/elec so must remember to look at TCB! Last year I made £300 through various things on there.

Always nice catching up with family but I know what you mean about everything back to normal.

    have a good week.
