  • Thank you for all your words of encouragement and special thanks to ictd for the recipe x. I really like the cheese and mustard option from golfoxtrot :) but using parmesan and whole grain mustard. Will let you know how I get on.

Today got two newspapers for the £ 5 off vouchers off algi and managed not to spend too much in sain getting them. Bought some flowers from the market and they were not that cheap but have managed to fill two vases. Did some running tonight further than normal :D.

  • Well its been a good weekend
Friday we went to the pub for dinner. £50 expensive but worth it.
Saturday I met friends for an afternoon tea birthday surprise and Hubby went to golf. My tea was paid for a part of a present so no spend. :)

Sunday friends came round with their children 3 and 6 and we played silly games. We did the food shopping which is always more expensive when doing it with the OH. £67

    that goes with it.
it's going to be more money each month but it will give us stability for 5 years. And the best thing is we can make unlimited over payments. The lady doing the mortgage was very good but said they are so busy at the moment due to :money:

  • Scones ended up being feta, chilli and choritzo. With some Italian herbs for good measure. They taste good but are rather flat so batch 2 is now in the oven. Not a competition winner but they will do for my dinner tomorrow with soup.

Was beaten to first place by some cheese and bacon scones. :(The Judge our CEO pa was not a fan of the chilli but my colleagues liked them, especially my boss who had 2 :j. The Winning lady was very gracious and shared her box of chocs with us all.

Going to buy some cheap cinema tickets from a deal website as they are on offer.

Yesterday I met a lady I used to work and used my taste card. So dinner with a drink was £8, got home and hubby had cooked. Which is not a regular occurrence. My trousers are just a bit too snug at the moment:o. Must make soup for dinner the next few days.

Thanks ictd you are great :D

Well have decided to give up other people's food for lent. Basically not to eat stuff I haven't bought into work. There are so many bad foods in the office about and it's not helping my diet and exercise plan. So I must take lots of healthy food in.

My boss has agreed to pay my professional subs for this year and going forward. This works out about £250 off the mortgage every year.

  • It's been a long but good week and I am v tired. Work has been interesting as I have taken on a high profile project which is really exciting and trained a colleague which was . Have been out doing lots of stuff including the gym.:D.

Friday night was Italian cookery course/ demo which was really good. The lady that presented it normally charges over £150 per day but it was a charity event so we all paid £10 for a couple of hours:money:

Saturday we paid for hubby's tires £300 and I managed to get 2 ticket for the cinema from the vouchers I bought from flyby saving £7.60.

It was a birthday celebration for my mum and my friend yesterday. It all got a bit messed up as my friend isn't very well and we were meant to be going out as a group she text me 10 mins before to say she wasn't well enough to come.
So we went back to mum and dad for fish and chips which saved lots of money and my mum was happy.

  • Sorry no posts recently it's not been very nice in the house hubby is v stressed, he was told on Friday afternoon that he was on a business trip Wednesday to a country that you really wouldn't want to go to. He is a home bird and the uncertainty doesn't work well with him.

Anyway not a lot of spending here. Trying to sort out the mortgage paperwork. not going overly well.

    Hopefully happy posts again soon
