  • Spoke to my friend about holiday concerns, she says we could buy the food for the week if we wanted to. feeling much better about it.

They probably wouldn't accept any money anyway....why not just take them out for a nice meal as a thank you? Glad you are feeling better about it now :D

  • I have found a way to make a few pennies, I am offering my services as a shopping friend. Basically I have only earnt £2 so it's a little op. I bought a shredder for a man I work with who didn't want the hassle doing it himself. I told him a price he gave me cash and then I get what ever tcb give me.

Sold some stuff at home to a colleague for £10.

Didn't go out for dinner on Wed just took a sandwich instead to friends house. So very cheap week. Need to do some exercise though.

Lavinia alfie is a great colour :) our friends have it all around their house.
Watty, this also a good idea

Was driving home from work tonight thinking I must go to the shops as I was hungry. Managed to talk myself out of it as I was likely to buy chocolate, ice cream and cake. The niggling thought in the back of my head was the unnecessary spend. What has this board done to me.
Now waiting for the roast lamb to cook, with a big glass of squash. The diaries are stopping me eating before dinner :D:D:D

Tomorrow I am spreading the mse love and doing my best mates mums broadband deal and taking all my used mags to friends or my mum depending on the subject. Hubby is playing golf so I will please myself.
Just a note the staples price match promise doesn't seem to cover Amazon or any other online retailer.

  • Hello all,
Managed to save best mates mum and dad £30 a month on the broadband and phone deal just by a little bit of research and a telephone call. They are very happy which is the first thing. It really does annoy me that the big companies have no problems ripping pensioners off, sorry change that anyone off just because they are not used to haggling.

Yesterday Mum gave me some new magazines as a swap for mine and a smoked chicken pie yum yum that we can have for dinner today and tomorrow.

I have been debating in my head over the last few weeks if our emergency fund is big enough and sadly on reflection it isn't. So all the saving for the next few months will be going there. It really isn't what I want to do but it is the most sensible option.

Not much on the agenda for today just tidying and cleaning.

Watched Argo last night is a very good film although a little stereotypical in places and don't be put off by the beginning.

    Happy Sunday

well done on helping your mum and dad it amazes me how much can be saved just by asking. We should all stop being so british and haggle more.

  • Not much to report. Bought some cosmetics for my mum and found a discount voucher for 10% off. Then found a gift card I could use so it was quite cheap. :j
filled out a refer a friend form for the credit card. This should give us £10 back in points.
My car need a service soon and it's going to cost short of £300 :eek:

  • Been very busy this week with stuff and things. Going to the gym was good and rewarding, also i work on the 7th floor of an office block, so have been walking the stairs everyday, first day I felt awful but it has been getting better.

Treated myself to the first massage of the year was v painful because I had left it so long. Back again in two weeks but it's only £15 and I will budget for it.

    Highlights of the week:D
    £30 grocery shop :j
Using a voucher to see Cuban fury on sunday.( have bought popcorn already)
    My bonus was approved.
    Chinese for Valentine's.

    Lowlights
