  • Hello all, happy non Valentine's day. Yesterday was like a cold piece of fish awful. Hubby had the day from hell and got home at 9:30pm instead of 6pm in a stinking mood and v stressed. The Chinese was good but I thought it would be a romantic meal and there was no chance of that. Bought him some special chocolates which are nasty but not cheap.

Today was a better day went to a jewellery class which was great and a real mood booster. Bought a half price jacket from Sabury only £15, because venue was cold. I can also wear for work dressed up.

Hunters chicken, butternut squash, peas and mash for tea.

  • Hello
I have been bad, I bought champagne afternoon tea for 2 at the Savoy in london. I have always wanted to go and it was on offer, don't ask how much  but I am all for the experiences in life. Hopefully I will go with a friend or my mum and they will pay half.:o

If not I will be drinking lots of champagne with hubby, so it's a win win situation.

Cinema this afternoon and cheap popcorn from alfie. Husband says he prefers the cinema stuff but not the price.

Afternoon tea ...a treat...something you've wanted for a long time .. the stuff memories are made off. I think you can justify it:D
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
  • Thanks Watty for your post.

No spending today and did a killer program at the gym. :j There are more technical names for this but I'm not to sure of them.

One minute squats and one minute of star jumps
One minute of lunges and one minute of star jumps
One minute of press ups and then one minute of knee ups
One minute of sit ups and then one minute of knee ups
One minute plank and then one minute of trying to kick your own bum
One minute bicep curl on both arms and then one minute of trying to kick your own bum.
Rest and do it again and again. Felt a big wobbly after 45 minutes.

    Salmon and rice for tea

Need to buy some flowers for a leaving present started I have been given the team collection. I wanted to compare prices in order to get the most for our money. I was shocked nearly the same flowers in two different shops £30 difference.
The cheaper flowers from ne+t was £35 with a vase. The more expensive s#m was £65 for the same amount of white roses and no vase. I want nice quality but surely they a they are all comming from a wholesaler.
Going to the local market tomorrow to see what there quality is like and if they can make a boquet. If they can do something basic I can use some bits and pieces I have at home to make it look lovely and all a lot cheaper than £65.

  • Well the flowers have been ordered from a local florist.
The market flowers were not great quality and the florist was really helpful and they were the same price as ne#t but more flowers although no vase. Will always support a small business when they give good service.

Jacket and beans for tea with a banana smoothie. Bananas were reduced to 20p for a big bunch.

  • :hello: Mg thanks for reading.

Yesterday was a good day no money spent. Friend came round for dinner and I showed her how to make fish pie. We have decided that our cooking skills are limited so we are going to try and develop them together. Next month she is going to teach me a risotto.:j:

Nearly payday, the mortgage overpayments have been non existent and I need to pull my finger out. Fingers crossed I will be able to put extra money in the savings pot and make a £1k payment on the mortgage. But it all depends how big the credit card is.:o

Off to work.in a minute:( I am starting a cold so no gym tonight as its too much effort.

Banana smoothie for breakfast and probably fish pie leftovers for tea.

Hi LGP, just been catching up on your diary, sorry to hear you are coming down with a cold, I'm the same and feeling a bit sorry for myself. Well done on going to the gym! I really need to get my bum into gear and start exercising, the weather is so awful though and staying indoors and eating comfort food is winning at the moment:o

Champagne afternoon tea at the savoy sounds wonderful! I'd love to to do that, it's mil's 60th birthday soon and was thinking we may do something similar, it is a big expense though.

I love fish pie, no one else in the family eats it though so we very rarely have it. I might have to make some individual ones for in the freezer for when I'm eating on my own.:) good Idea for you and a friend to give each other cooker lessons :T

    Feel better soon

  • Thank you for all your good wishes ictd and Crumpets. I'm ok but glad it's Friday tomorrow.
Crumpets you could make a big fish pie and then freeze into portions then microwave if you are on your own. Hope you feel better soon to.

There are lots of places that do discounted afternoon tea, I got mine on Am@son local.
you can use Mr t's points to save on costs if your not wanting to go to somewhere specific.
