Hi can I just ask, does saving mean in bank accounts only...or can it include investment in shares etc...

    thank you.
I guess wherever you choose to save them - but increases in shares (i.e not money you've put there yourself) doesn't count.

  • In the spreadsheet, what does it mean when the overpaid column is green or red?

Well done everyone, keep up the good work and we'll all get there together. I'd like to declare £1600 for Feb thanks to a pay rise and a bonus from the HMRC. :T

Just checked when the car service/MoT is due - 5th March :( Looks like the savings I've made this month are going to be eaten up by the garage. Looking on the bright side it was serviced in June when I bought it so hopefully it won't be too painful.
On the plus side I found the €300 I had left from my last holiday (I was very frugal :)) which will save me changing any when I go away in a couple of months.

Strange that when I didn't have a target last year I managed to build up a good amount of savings, now I'm trying to things keep getting in my way! Will do a final total in a couple of days and hope it's a + rather than a -.

£1000 saved for February but it was a struggle. Very much doubt I will be able to save anything for March though as got road tax, car insurance due, MOT, new brakes, new suspension (self inflicted for consistently speeding over sleeping policeman), dentist and opticians! Hmmm it's going to be a long month. Think I may have to open my sealed £2 coin tin which I am hoping has about £700 plus in there to balance everything out.

Everybody is doing so well with their savings that it is keeping me motivated so THANK YOU everyone!

How much will you spend in 2017 #4
  • I am ending February today (hoping nothing is going to happen in the next day and a half that requires money!). I added 133.23 to my savings (leftover from this month's budget for living costs), taking me to a total of 1068.14! For my comparatively modest goal of 4000, that's pretty good in February.
    Well done everyone!

Payday, so I'm declaring for February!

I managed to save £1,199 this month, which I'm pretty happy about, considering my deficit last month :)

My total for 2014 so far is £901 (taking said deficit into account).

My overall savings total stands at £75,028.

I've finally broken the £75,000 barrier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    WOW! Very well done Tara!

You really are an inspiration to us all on here. Any jobs going where you work?:cheesy: Lol I'm just down the road in Derry. ;) :P
