I, pay day has been and gone so I will now declare my savings from January. I like to try and work in advance.
I have factored in my regular £250 savings for the 16th, and my other money is now sorted, so I'll say £550 is now saved for the month at least.
Hopefully I can keep saving, even though I'm in the process of moving house, so had to buy a bed, 1 year broadband, etc etc0 -
I had to spend money this month, I'm totally gutted but I was advised that if I didn't then I would have to pay a financial penalty. I'm really struggling with life atm, I seem to be taking one step forward, 2 steps back. It's really getting me down
Try not to be disheartened, if the spending was unavoidable just think of the money you've saved on avoiding the penalty!0 -

I'm on track to have saved ~£2500 in the tax year 2013-14, which is about 15% of my overall income. Not bad, although about £1500 of that will have been from interest, which won't be repeated next tax year with the current abysmal rates!0

Chin up chick. Like fishfins and fatpat said, at least you didn't have to pay the penalty. It's just a blip. It will get better and you will feel better and happier again. Just see it through and know that you will come out the other side. I'll join in the dodgy hug crew :grouphug:Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000

Hi everyone,
Have been a bit elusive, but literally worked my butt off over the last couple of weeks. Managed to find a great hotel in NY too, so thank you very much for all your suggestions.
I am actually quite surprised that I managed to put any money away this month. Have overpaid on my mortgage and have added £1,000 towards my savings, all that in the same month as buying 2 tickets to NY and paying for the hotel. Some more overtime pleeeeeeeeese :rotfl:!
Nat21luv, chin up little chica, these things make us stronger. Keep smiling!
I will be away for 2 weeks from Saturday. My DD is having a baby and is crying for her mama:D!

Payday, so I'm declaring for February!
I managed to save £1,199 this month, which I'm pretty happy about, considering my deficit last month
My total for 2014 so far is £901 (taking said deficit into account).
My overall savings total stands at £75,028.
