  • I've had a few very slow saving months, I moved jobs recently with a month off in between so was without a salary for a month and to top it off the new place underpaid me this month so I can't save yet.

I won't make my £6k target that is for sure but will just save as much as I can and next year will be a fresh start!
    Santander 0% £1,529.94
    Sainsbury's 0% £4,371.31
    Total 0% £5,901.25
AIM: Pay off debt & simultaneously save for deposit to buy a house by Oct 2020.
Mar Challenge: Stay within groceries & eating out budget.
  • I thought I'd get in early for a change with my update - £540 for the month.

I see we already have lots of lovely scores on the doors. Well done everyone :T

Just calculated that I need to save £3,830 in the next 3 months to make it to £12,000 this year. I can't see it happening! But I will save as much as I can...

Tara I can totally see it happening! You will only be just short of your December 2014 target if you don't. You can do it girl!!! Can you sell a kidney or something?? I am desperate for you to hit this target! :D

#077 declaring £163.36 for September. The £100 incentive from the new bank is due by 11th Oct. I was hoping they would put it in this month (First Direct were really quick at putting theirs in) but sadly, no. It will be included in next month's declaration though :)
    Mortgage at 12/07/2022 = £175,000
    Mortgage today = £161,690.76

Sept brought a lot of expense (car, vet bills), so there are no savings to add for member 070 sparrer. Hopefully October will bring a small windfall which will make up for the horrendous month just ending.

It was a 1ct diamond solitaire pendant, Tara. The jeweller said (well he would, wouldn't he :D) that secondhand jewellery is a good buy - no supply chain each taking a profit, no VAT, no "sentimental" premium, and sold at just a bit more than scrap value. And I can always flog it again in the future! :)

Wow, I'm sure it's lovely! Good for you :D

    And I'm declaring...nil again.

As predicted last month, September has max'd out the old finances at the geoffers household; both boys safely installed at Uni... but neither has got their student loan through yet so things are a bit tight. Also had the house insurance to renew this month, as well as getting someone in to clear some small trees/large shrubs that were threatening to take over the garden.

All being well, should be back on track next month. I hope!

    Happy saving everyone.
