    Hi all

It feels like ages since I've been able to update. I'm now at £2200 which is £360 in Sept (#41)

I don't think I'm realistically going to hit my target of £6000. I'm currently on £3837.50 (though I do have another £200 in my Christmas fund that I'm not including in that as it's definitely going to be spent).

Is it possible to change my target to £5000?

This is the first year I've actually been able to save up properly so if I hit £5000 it's not too bad going. A little disappointed I won't be able to make the £6000. A few unexpected things to pay out on the past couple of months though means it's unrealistic. Though I do just appreciate the face that I've paid them, and been able to save a little at the same time.

  • I didn't manage to save anything in September :-( I lost my job due to funding cuts in our sector so until I manage to find a new one I won't have many pennies.

Well, I have just put away £3,000 for October... I might just miss my target for the year, but I am pretty happy so far. Seriously, I used to look forward to pay day so I could go treat myself...now I look forward to putting money away and seeing how little I can get by on for the rest of the month!! I wish I had been like his 10 years ago...but better late than never:)
I'm trying to remember to pay my future self first!

Ainat you can change your goal on the form on the first page of this thread. Just put it to 5000 and bingo. You have done really well and to hit 5k is a huge number.

rjrs0510 - if you have ever seen vanilla sky, I love the line 'Everyday is another chance to turn it all around'.

Better to learn about savings now than in a further 10 years... better to do it now than live with the regrets of not doing it I feel....

Saving isn't flashing or overly exciting... but over time as your pot gets bigger and bigger and you can do more and more with it... it gives you options and I feel... a more fulfilled life as you don't fill your life with stuff you don't need like new cloths every week and a new car every 3 years lol
My Goal: From 1st of Jan 2015 to 31st of December 2015 is to save 30000.

    48.78% towards 2015 target.

    105.3% towards 2014 target. :j

This is how I feel too. Lalman is right though, better to do it now than worry about the past. Concentrate on the present and the future! :D

Well, I have had a bumper month due to two unplanned events.

1 - I applied for a PPI claim on an old loan and received over £1k
2 - My sharesave matured giving me over £2k profit

I have also booked a holiday for next year costing me £500 so far

Total saving for the month £3314.91

Next year will suffer though as I have to pay the balance on my holiday !

    Long may it continue!
