Finally I can post on this thread. Yesterday was payday and I paid the last of my debt off and now have savings.

Great news Moneymash! Well done

£0.00 for me for September. £3332.22 flew out of my bank account. I blame the house move.

Did manage to get £8.18 paid to me by the banks as interest.

Had an unexpected windfall so have exceeded my target for the year which is great news. Declaring £6500 for September. My new challenge is to see how much more I can add to it.

  • My total for September is £787.33

I've been meaning to set up standing orders for the funding requirements for my current accounts but have been doing it manually in the meantime. This time I only remembered on 30 Sept that I needed to move the money around which I did but Nationwide credited the amount on 1 Oct so I missed out on September's interest. Arrgg! I am so annoyed with myself!

  • Spreadsheet entry submitted - now sitting at £10,200.. I have had to spend a considerable amount as I am getting ready to leave the country in November to travel for an indefinite period so my total would obviously be that little bit higher...

I have officially given up work and am now awaiting the last of my annual leave money, tax rebate and a few bits and bobs at the end of the month - hopefully I will still hit the £12k I wanted but I would still be happy with anything over £11k..

  • I made my goal!! I hit my target of £14000 unexpectedly early so I'my excited about the possibilities for the excess from Oct/Nov/Dec. I'm planning to try to follow the YNAB tip of living off last month's pay cheque. How fantastic would it be just to pay your whole salary straight into savings pots on the 1st of the month! Not that I'm stopping saving, that house deposit won't save itself...
I'll definitely be here for 2015 and beyond if Save £xK carries on.

Well done to those who have hit their yearly goal already....that now includes me :j

My target has been low this year but I have been on maternity leave for about 10 months so little to no money left over.
I have been stashing away any money made on selling things I don't want/need anymore via gumtree mostly so no costs to me. Also had some interest from my 2 current accounts each month and a nice annual interest credit on my ISA which has helped me exceed my target.

Now I'm getting a proper wage again I will continue to save as much as I can, although most of my wage is now going on my little mans nursery fees

Keep up the fab savings :)
