Would you put me down for 2K ?
I will complete a HSBC reg saver in July (3K) but I will put that in the ISA and make this 2K a seperate goal.
Thanks!0 -
Please put me down for £12K. Now I am finally mortgage free I need to save like fury as I have no pension povision and will reach retirement age in four years. I hope to manage £15K but I have recently moved so have ongoing settling-in costs and a few technical difficulties concerned with my connectivity work-wise, so everything is a little uncertain financially. I will only count anything saved expressly for long-term saving and from income from Dec 13 to Dec 14. Saving for holidays etc. will be in a separate (small!) pot.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

There aren't hard rules, so you can't really 'fail' the challenge - if a new kitchen/bathroom is a goal for you then go for it!
Personally I don't count money that I plan to spend, for me savings are rainy-day money while planned spending goes elsewhere in the budget, but that's just my take. Saving up for a kitchen/bathroom and paying cash is definitely a win too
Thanks for the reply!I have some cash stashed away in case of emergencies in an isa, but try not to touch that ever. Saving with a goal in mind (last year it was deposit) works a lot better for me! I'll start saving without set spending goals again as soon as my project house is done-ish (which will probably never
)
On that subject; I just wanted to share I have just paid for my reclaimed hardwood flooring :j Now just need to get it delivered, pressure DH to start nailing it down and spend a few days trying to control a floor sander!Debt free as per 22/12/16 -0 -

I'm going to be really awkward here, but can I be put down for £10,000. Looking to purchase my first house this summer so hoping for £5000 by the start of June and anything else will be a bonus.0

I think I'm going to aim for £6000 this year. I can't work out if that's a bit ambitious as I won't graduate until the summer and I've just left my job haha but I think it's achievable.
I'm really motivated to buy a house within the next 2 years so I need to add to my deposit savings.Sealed Pot Challenge #239

I may have to adjust my targets a little bit as I had some credit card debt which I thought was still 0% interest but has apparently been charging me for a few months so just paid that off.
So can I go for a more conservative £3.5k but with the aim of revising this upward given that I am in a better situation now I have rationalised a bit by getting rid of unwanted bills, reducing energy bills and now reducing interest payments :-P0 -
