    Hi,

I was #61 on the 2013 thread. Can I join this year please? I didn't quite make my target this year but still really pleased with how well I did :)

The plan is to try and buy a flat next year and go on holiday so (continuing) to save is a big goal! Please can I be put down for £5,000. Holiday savings will be seperate but I will include the house savings.

Thank you so much slowfading for running this thread again. I love contributing :)

My tip would be to create your own personal spreadsheet to keep track of where the saved money comes from and where it is going. It's really motivational to see the money rise. I also divided my goal by 12 so I could see the months I had done really 'well' in (and console myself when I hit a bad month)!

I :heart2: my spreadsheet! It keeps me firmly on track. I used to be afraid of them...silly I know, but I looked on wikihow, found out how to do a simple spreadsheet and now update it all the time LOL :o

  • oh just had another idea for my savings pot. I get very generous mileage allowance which ends up paying for my petrol and leaves me with additional afterwards. Next year any mileage above my petrol costs I will put into my savings :D

Also just activated my "save the change" facility with the bank which is a brilliant idea I had no idea about until yesterday.

I'm going to attempt £8000 with my Fiancee.
Is it possible to change half way through the year? I'm currently a final year university student, and am unsure of whether to do my initial teacher training in 2014 or to get a job first. If I get a job, I should be able to save more.
