Can you put me down for 15k this year please? My goal was 12k this year which I'll achieve, and this year I've had 2 holidays, had to buy a new fridge freezer and washing machine, and replaced my car so will try for 15k this time barring any mishaps!

PS Wasn't quick enough to spot this thread, it was nice being 007 last year!
  • Hi,

New to the site, I would like to sign up for the 12K challenge please!
  • Hi another newbie here :)

Can you put me down for the full 12k also please.
  • Hi I'd like to get involved in this! I will read through last year's thread and inform myself!

I am in awe of people who can save so much each year. I will put myself down for £7000 but to be honest I think that's a bit out of reach but we'll see. We are continuing to repay oh's dm back the loan she gave us towards our house deposit. Should be clear by Sept, we are renovating our house and again should be done around the same time and also by this point we can remortgage and should get a better deal so will have a lot more disposable income. We'll see...

Thanks for setting the thread up SF x

This sounds like fun and will be the first time I make a concisous effort to save. Please put me in for £9K, that should be a real challenge.

  • Put me in for £6,000

This thread will be motivation for me to actively save, also I'm 19, so would be good to see how people of similar age are doing. My basic is £1280, after tax around £1100, and I'm averaging about £700 commission..

£600 expenses each month, out of roughly £1700 each month, I could save more, but once and if I hit my target I'll then add more on!

Excitement! Think I'll give the money to my nan/grandad as I'll spend it to willingly on my car!
    Save in 2016 challenge!!!

    Target - £3000
    Achieved - £0

Please feel free to share any tips on the thread - anyone got any specific plans on how they're going to reach their aim?

  • tips you say???? I save between £300-£500 pm into long term savings already (depends on if the house renovation fund needs deposits!) & £275 each money to various savings pots/yearly expenses.

going forward next year, towards the end my outgoings will decrease - mortgage (fingers crossed), family loan & renovation fund. Any additional cash will go to savings - if my performance at work continues as it is I should get a bonus, I am waiting on a decision on PPI that has been with the ombudsman for 2 years now (I've actually given up hope on this but if it comes through it'll be a savings Brucey bonus), any cashback etc. That's all!
