Hi SF, thank you so much for running this - my target is £3200 please
i have £800 saved this year already and am aiming to get to £4000 by the end of the next year
Do people share ideas for making extra to save at all ? £1200 of my target should be made up from what i budget to save anyway so the £2000 is the more challenging partCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

I can save £3600 normally, the other £2400 is going to be the real challenge. This last year I have sold just about everything that wasn't nailed down so I can't fall back on that this time around. I do YouGov surveys and am due £50 fairly soon. I am also due £50 from First Direct for recommending my sister to them. Other than that it will be frugality which will have to carry me through.
Any other ideas are welcome!Pay off all your debts by Christmas 2025 no. 15 £0/69490 -
I've updated the front page and spreadsheet
we've passed 100 members :j :j :j and our target so far is just short of £1,000,000 which would be an amazing achievement :j :j

All I can do is live as frugally as possible. I can't compromise on heating as I have a chronic illness so cut back in any and every other way I can. Elec - all bulbs low wattage, never have more than one light on at a time, luckily my stairs are open plan in the sitting room. I never buy pre-packaged food, never buy whole-price food if I can get it rtc, as long as it's something I usually buy I'll get 2/3/4 rtc's to keep in the cupboard or freezer (but just occasionally I find a gem, a treat, to break the monotony). I happily make one teabag stretch to 2/3 cups of tea, even Mr S value bags are good for 2 cups. I buy whole milk rtc, usually about 20p for 6 pints and dilute it 50/50, so less than 2p pt. I make dog biscuits from saved peelings & scraps, a couple of eggs, garlic, olive oil and a tray of liver, a month's supply costs around £1. I only use the oven about 3-4 times a year and manage perfectly well with the mw, sc and steamer. Lots more things but some I can't/won't mention here! I'm going back to surveys, realised having a year off I've lost out on at least £250 so it'll be my 'new' hobby. Always on the lookout for more[STRIKE] pennypinching[/STRIKE] money saving ways, would love to hear what others suggest.slowlyfading wrote: »I've updated the front page and spreadsheetwe've passed 100 members :j :j :j and our target so far is just short of £1,000,000 which would be an amazing achievement :j :j
