I'm not particularly fussed. I know how my card has worked regardless of you spouting some sort of "official" line.

When was it updated? Please could you find me the page that existed a few weeks ago that rather subtly stated that the Mastercard holder got this minor perk. It wasn't headline, but it was there.

Because I'm better than you. Obviously.

You're not fussed? But you keep posting here in a rather poor attempt, imho, to try to belittle me.

As you are not fussed, I shall not post the link again that demonstrates that clubcard points for fuel (ignoring any TPF points) were halved over 2.5 years ago to 1 point for every £2 spent ... but it's there if you bothered to read my posts rather than just attempt to deny what I have posted.

Now you want me to prove something you are trying to assert? Don't you already have any evidence to support such assertion?
That's the normal way we do things :)

I do, of course, bow your your superiority over me
(even if you do say so yourself! :rotfl:)

Was it really there about mastercard holders earning double points? Do you remember the rough wording, or roughly what page it was on, so I can try to dig it out?
It was there, very much in the small print. Regretably I cannot recall the location on the site. Much of it appears to have been revamped.

While not trying to belittle you, you are doing a cracking job of pi$$ing me off. So well done for that.

The difficulty I have with what you've posted is that you have completely failed to appreciate that more than one poster has confirmed that Tesco have been paying this premium to their credit card customers.

You haven't acknowledged that any of them are telling the truth or could be telling the truth. While not calling them liars you have posted your links and reiterated your belief that they are talking some sort of nonsense.

I can't find the links that would confirm my point. I don't have my petrol receipts that would show what I've received in the quite recent past.

But the 1 point per £1 for Tesco credit card customers did continue well beyond the change to 1 point per £2 for a normal clubcard.

I'm sorry you don't believe it. It's a shame you've taken an entrenched position when you're information is incomplete. But that's your call.

Do you not read anything people write?

The link you posted does NOT demonstrate that CC points were halved over 2.5 years ago.

It demonstrates that Tesco THINK they halved CC points.

I can post my latest receipt if you like? But you'll still bury your head in the sand and repost your rubbish link.

I read the posts. I digest the posts.

I also read the information Tesco send me about their credit cards and clubcards.

I remember that clubcard points were reduced for fuel purchases a long time ago, as supported both by that old thread I linked to and the Tesco website I linked to.

Why don't you call Tesco and ask why you receive more points than they advertise?

You don't get it, do you?

"were reduced ... As supported by".

    No. Wrong.

Perhaps you meant to say "were *intended* to be reduced (as supported by your link) but Not actually reduced (as supported by many posters on this thread)"

What, and have them take back the £100s of pounds of meals out that you've missed out on? No thanks.

You might want to double check that as I don't believe Tesco have ever awarded Tesco Clubcard points based on the amount of litres purchased. I think it always has been based on the amount of £ spent.

Iirc, when you use a Tesco credit card linked to a clubcard account at a Tesco Pay@Pump, it first takes the credit card as your clubcard and then spits it out. Then it ask you in insert a payment card which may or may not be the same card.

I say iirc, as it's a long time since I've bought any Tesco fuel. It's always cheaper at our local Asda and sometimes at Sainsbury's too. I even often see it cheaper at the Esso station right next door! (I think they even offer clubcard points now, but no Pay@Pump there)

Like you, I also use a cashback credit card.

I apologise; I was thinking of Sainsbury's. They give one Nectar point for every full litre of fuel purchased.

You are right in terms of being able to use the Tesco Bank credit card as a Clubcard before choosing to continue paying by it or using another card.

I bought £25 of fuel from them today, and got 25 points.
It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

For clarity, let's forget the 1 point per £4 of spend. That's unaffected.

A normal Clubcard pays 1 point for each £2 of fuel.

If, however, you use your Tesco credit card as the Clubcard for a fuel purchase, even when paying with a different card or cash, they've been rewarding it at a rate of 1 point per £1.

If this has changed I'm not aware that I've been notified. As it's a detrimental change to my credit card account I believe they should give me two months notice in writing.

As such, if they have made a change (which appears to be open to some debate), I believe they have acted illegally under the Payment Services Regulations.

Under the Collect and Spend Points section of the Tesco Clubcard website on the "View all the ways to collect Clubcard points at Tesco" it states that anyone buying Tesco Unleaded and Diesel who charges it to their Tesco Bank card that they'll get 1 point for 1 litre.

About two years ago Tesco changes points awarded, out went double points in-store, but in came the 'double-up' promotion'. Also, they halved the points for fuel - to 1 point per £2.00 spent, because to many companies were using it for company vehicles e.g. delivery vans.
Because the credit card is more personal, the one pt per £1.00 was retained.

To check on the Tesco website
    - first on Clubcard it shows 1 pt per £2.00,
    - second go to Tesco Bank, Credit card - where it says 5 pts per £4.00 spent in-store and the same for fuel - NB I pt of that applies to 'tpf' when paying with the Credit Card.

To ensure you get these points:
    - don't use a Clubcard or key fob,
    - use the till rather than pay at pump,
and this applies to Tesco Filling Stations not Esso.
I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard

Nice one, you have to scroll down the popup window to get to it at the bottom, but it's there.

    "Tesco Unleaded and Tesco Diesel
Collect 1 point for every £1 spent in addition to 1 point for every £4 spent in each purchase (£4 min)paid for with a Tesco Clubcard Credit Card**"

It's a loophole, because the wording says "**paid for** with a Tesco CC".

That other link posted was for clubcard, not clubcard credit card [Text removed by MSE Forum Team]
